It's adorable that after ten years other conferences still act like how they do in whatever shite non sec conference they play in is relevant.

Don't underestimate the importance of our advantage with our DBs and how that affects the running game...we will just man up on your WRs with little fear of getting burned which will allow us to stack the box against the run...
We've proven We can run against just about anybody and our WRs are going to be a big match up problem for y'all...if Jennings plays fair, I think we'll win by ten or more.

Which is where our TEs come into play in the passing game. I do agree with the DBs being able to man up against our WRs, which is what Michigan St. did to limit us so much. They did have Dennard who is a Thorpe semifinalist.

2. Don't sell this Iowa team short. I understand we don't carry the cache of other bigger brand schools, but our team is playing well and could very well take LSU's best shot and win convincingly (don't laugh too hard at that one please).

Apparently, u guys didn't watch many LSU games this year. Our best shot beat Auburn and A&M like a drum and was tied with Bama going into the 4th 17-0. Our best shot beats every team in the country except Bama by 2 touchdowns or more. Probably 30 points or more in your case.

However, we also lost to a crappy Ole Miss team and an OK Georgia team and played like crap against Arky.

Your only hope and prayer and it is a very possible one is that LSU doesn't come to play like the last two bowl games against Clemson and Bama,

But you will not face a faster, and more talented team than this LSU team this year, next year or the year after. We are light years faster than Ohio State, and our running game is on par with Auburn but we can pass with anyone. Even with a Freshman quarterback you cant cover Beckham and Landry, no one can. And we likes to run, a lot. And then there is the matter of all sec running back Hill, and then Magee and Blue.

Defensively, despite all the bullshite in the media now about Auburn being unstoppable, we stopped them, and were the only team to stop A&M. Chevis is one of the best DC in the nation and we are young but playing better on defense.

If we come to play and are pissed off, you are done. If we show up and expect to win like last year because we are LSU who knows, you may take it.

But our best shot is too much for anyone in the country but bama. (Even with an 9-3 team)

You guys have more athleticism at WR and DB. That's it. We're better at OL, DL, LB, TE and by virtue of experience, at QB as well. This isn't Arkansas defense Jennings will be seeing on NYD.

I give Iowa the advantage in TE and that is IT.

You are damn right crazy to think anything else.

SEC teams have bigger OL and DL than Iowa's. LB are big, but cut back runs will do them in.

Motivation edge to LSU. This team is gonna be nasty.

So size makes all the difference? Go check out the size of Shanahan's Denver zone blocking scheme and get back to me. Iowa is very technique solid with one of the best NFL OL coaches as our head coach in Ferentz.

While your at it, go check out the OL Iowa has put in the NFL lately. Sorry, but you're not going to win this argument.

The question is whether Jennings will be able to throw. If you guys can get him in a rhythm with the short passes and then hit a few big ones over the top, it will be a test for the Hawks defense. I don't think you'll be able to run on Iowa, and I would think Parker (the DC) would force a green QB to beat them.

Yea, we can't run on big teams.

We ran over Ark. Same type of defense.
TxAM..ran on them.
Flordia..ran on them.
Miss St...ran on them.
Auburn...ran on them.

Common thread. All run some type of base 4-3 defense. All have big DLs and good LB.

Our O-line is healthy. Stable of RBs are ready to go. WR will be more than capable. QB will be ready.

We will run on Iowa....and pass.

We know a little something about what Thorpe winners look like, and we trotted one out in number 21. Our safeties are playing good. If you can control Ego, you may can run it some. But your slow pace will help our biggest weakness on DL, depth.

You may very well win, but it will not be 'convincingly', The biggest problem you have is covering Landry and Beckham...I am not sure our freshman QB can make the throws Mett did, but I do know he can buy more time which will open up the TE and third receiver game...you cant cover Landry or Beckham 1:1, if you give help, you cant stop the third and 4th options. We will gobble up your zone.

It is matchups.

Iowa will be able to run the ball a little bit, but it won't be because their RB is better. That is seriously laughable. Jeremy Hill is going to play in the NFL for a long time. LSU could trot out 4 RB's that are all better than Iowa's RB.

Iowa will run on LSU because of their O-Line. Our D-Line has not been very physical this year outside of a few games. However, if ego and freak decide they actually want to play, Iowa might have under 200 yards of offense.

Not as many or as heralded as the LSU Defensive linemen...not sure what this argument even means. But just figured I would play along.

First, I'm not sure why you're so hung up on the size thing. Iowa has done very well through the years with undersized DTs. Again, technique trumps size every time.

Secondly, none of those defenses you listed are as good as Iowa's run defense. So common thread with a 4-3 or not (not that that matters either), there isn't a lot that Iowa has in common with any of the opponents listed that you ran on.

Alabama's run defense is a closer comparison (stats-wise) if you want an idea of what you'll be facing.

By saying the RBs are equal, I'm speaking of the run game. I understand just how talented Hill is, but I think our running game matches up with yours quite well.

I think it should be a good game. The only thing that has me concerned is that LSU has had the tendency to under perform in bowl games the last few years. However if we can hang till half time I think we pull away in the second half and win by 17
