I live in Central (Greenwell Springs) and our power is still on. I can understand how someone might feel that the game won't be played but I don't understand the comment of I don't see how it can happen! Why not? How can anyone not think that the storm will weaken... the storm will speed up movement over grown. It isn't going to keep putting along at only six miles per hour forever.

Close enough. This hurricane is like sitting in the delivery room with your wife in labor for 30 hours.

I really doubt this game will be played. Initial forecasts had this thing moving fairly rapidly over southeastern LA but this thing moving at 5MPH combined with a NW and W eyewall impact on BR will keep this game from being played as scheduled.

Right. It may not be the hardest hitting winds we've seen, but all the other storms hit us and moved on. This one hit us, is standing on top of us, and pissing on us while we're down.

Winds won't top 55 at any point of this storm.

This storm is still being highly over-rated. Yes it's raining more and will cause massive flooding all around but the winds are weak in land. Even in BR.

So it rains a ton.. They can still play Saturday/Sunday. Not sure why yall are assuming power to go out so widely in BR.

It's not a last minute decision they can make. There is another team that has to get ready to travel and that decision has to be made much earlier. As of now... I don't see them making another team come into this mess.

Morning Isaac Update: Hurricane Isaac has not moved much this morning and it will not move much throughout the day. It is located near Houma, LA. It looks very impressive on radar with heavy rain mainly on the eastern side of the 40 mile-wide eye. It will continue to creep NW at 6 mph and will be located near the city of Plaquemine by 7 PM tonight. This will keep Baton Rouge to the east of the center, which is the worst side to be on. We will see the conditions get worse here in Baton Rouge all morning and through the afternoon with heavy rain and much stronger winds. Tonight Isaac will move to Alexandria and get there by 7 AM. This will keep BR east of the center, so the heavy rain will continue into and through Thursday.

What can we expect: We will have winds of 40 to 60 mph with higher gusts, very heav rain with it totaling 12-15 inches through Thursday Night. Some areas may be closer to 20 inches! Flash Flooding is expected and a Flash Flood Watch continues through Thursday Night. We will also have a threat for Tornadoes today and tomorrow. A Tornado Watch is in effect until 4 PM this afternoon.

Please stay safe, stay indoors, keep watching WBRZ and look for my updates on WBRZ.com, Facebook and Twitter throughout the day and night.

Gustav was a lot more powerful storm. The main problem with this one seems to be a slow speed and a lot of rain.

According to Bonnette and the LSUFootball Twitter account as of a few minutes ago, Miles said in the SEC teleconference they expect the game to be played as scheduled.

If I walk up to you and slap you in the face a few times with a 2X4, and then walk off - you're gonna be pretty messed up.

It will be worse if I slap you in the face with a smaller 1X1 yard stake, but repeatedly over and over on top of your already jacked up face for 24 hours solid.

Law enforcement has enough on their hands without dealing with 200k people trying to get to Tiger Stadium to tailgate. Not to mention the crowd leaving TS would be leaving in the dark with sections of the city without power. No street lights, no stop lights etc

I just don't see it happening
