I noticed that too. Probably unrelated, but the football accounts did the same thing before Kelly was fired…

February 1st? 99.99% (there is always a chance).

February 28th? Probably 80%.

The only reason to fire a coach midseason is if you think it will either salvage player retention, or you don't want to risk him pulling a rabbit out of his hat and having a decent end to the season.

I doubt anything we do will significantly impact player retention, and I do not think McMahon is capable of salvaging the season if he is in a position to be fired late in February.

I also do not think he will be able to salvage the season at all. I think the die is cast now, and he will not be the LSU Men's Basketball Coach next season.
