Yes. Vandy was hot and played very well. But they also outhustled our guys to every loose ball and rebound, worked harder on the defensive end, and generally played with MUCH greater intensity and energy.

They won because they WANTED it more.

This is a recurring problem with this LSU team. Focus and hustle go away for whole games or significant parts of games. Part of it has to do with a shallow bench - but much of it is attributable to coach and team personality/chemistry.

It's something Wade needs to fix if they want to win the SEC again and go deep in the post-season.

[Go ahead, Rantards, shred away. but you know this is true.]

Hard to beat a team that everything they throw up goes in.

That was the case last night.

Our 3point shooting was embarrassing as well.

Especially when you don’t contest any shots

Still got to make them.

We had numerous unconstested shots too behind arc.

Made 3.

fricking 3.

I’d counter with the fact the we’ve won all our games by our hustling the other team for rebounds on both ends. So this game seems to be the exception, not the rule.

LSU scored 90 points in regulation. That should be enough to win almost every college basketball game with any amount of effort on defense.

We scored 90 bro.

With any kind of a pulse on defense, we win that game.

Pure & Simple analysis

This team doesn't want to ACCEPT what they are and play this way everytime out.

You people can be such fricking idiots sometimes.

Show me a team that plays perfect basketball for 40 minutes a game, every single game.

And there is nothing wrong with the chemistry on this team.

The single thing that makes this board unreadable sometimes is when LSU loses a game and the armchair geniuses show up with their hot takes, fresh off the press.

I disagree. I think the 10 game win streak was a product of them accepting who they are. I think last night they found themselves chasing a team that couldn't miss from 3 and it rattled them a bit and made them play out of character.

A tiger isn't going to change its stripes. We don't have good 3 point shooters so we will just have to limit the 3s we take and try to win in the paint and at the FT line.

I doubt that will change either. We're just not a good 3 point shooting team. It's our biggest issue on offense. That doesn't mean we aren't good offensively, but it will bite us in the arse a few times this year.

If you watched the whole game... which I did.. then you would understand that we are just fine. Vandy was having one of those magical games. There PG had close to 30 points in the first half. They were just making every shot. This game is good for us. Losing should make you want it more.

yep. mid range shooting, scoring in the post, offensive rebounds, & free throw shooting are what we're good at. Good on fast breaks as well.
