On one hand, I see this as a situation of taking the good with the bad, but I think Odell is much more good than bad. What Odell is doing is unprecedented. He is setting all kinds of Team and NFL Records. If you want Odell's production and game-breaking abilities, maybe you have to take the occasional outburst, unsportsmanlike penalty, etc.

On another hand, I understand what people are saying about him being more humble and poised.

On a third hand, Odell gets so much damn hate, I was just happy to see him go off on Sunday.

On a fourth hand, I think it should be put in perspective that Odell is still a very young guy who is dealing with a lot of fame. (Did anyone expect him to take the NFL by storm and become as famous as he is? I mean, I hear women who aren't even into football talk about him like a sex symbol.) He has worked hard to have incredible musclefulness. In a similar way, he can work hard to have more poisefulness, but I don't see his celebrationfulness and unsportsmanlikefulness as being as problematic as some others do. Football is a very emotional game played by lots of passionate, emotional guys, so that kind of stuff happens sometimes.

It's a bit much right now but people just have to let him be himself. If that's how he gets himself up to being amazing at football, have to take the good with the bad.

Ideally we'd like to take his talent and add Barry Sanders' humility but that's not how it works. He either has that mindset or he doesn't. He doesn't.

This past weekend I just think he was just excited that he broke out of this "slump" he was in to begin the season.

IMO Kid is homosexual . It will be universally known in the not to distant future. I have no problem with it and it will explain a lot of what we've seen from him.

Many who have posted on this topic turned it into an assumption that us "old school" folks are whiners about ObJ's TD celebrations, totally missing the point. I enjoy the celebratory reaction and creativity when scoring anTD for one. That's not it. It's all the BS like taking the helmet off brawling with DBs, and other selfish behavior that has the strong possibility of hurting the team that he has to get right. As an example, that TD to win the game for the Giants was incredible. But then immediaely sheds the helmet with his "Look at me, me,me" BS knowing full well it will draw a 15 yd penalty on the most critical kickoff in the game. 15 extra yards is HUGE in that situation. He is very fortunate as they darn near scored that last TD to beat the Giants because he acted like a knucklehead.
