Not all pregnancies and deliveries work the same. Each of our daughters went full term so we got to show up at an agreed-upon time for the delivery day. Sometimes babies have other ideas, though, and they choose their own time.

How does he know that it's his kid?

BS, in todays world he can watch the birth and talk to her in live video from the sidelines so there is zero reason he has to be in the room with her
