Because he says he let's his position coaches decide who is in the game. Sounds like he just taking the blame for an assistant coach fricking up.

A lot of coaches delegate this during the game. However, the problem is that O is too disconnected and hands-off with the offense unless it goes off the rails. Then he sometimes gets too involved, like with Canada when he lost faith.

I don’t have any issue with letting the staff handle the rotations in-game. That’s their job. However, if O sees something strange that should be changed, like Carter running downfield routes, then he needs to step in and tell the staff to alter what they are doing right then.

THIS is the problem. Assuming all this is true, O needs to give clearer direction on what he wants before the game and then give feedback on player rotations and calls throughout the game, not after it’s over.

This right here would piss me off if I’m Brennan or anyone else on the team.

Marshall is having a great year no on can deny that but he’s a receiver right?
How does the ball get to him?
I would say that combo is carrying the team.

Did we even have a timeout to spare?

It would have been a lot better if we didn't call a timeout for a defense that couldn't stop the opposing team at all in the second half just to have that team go ahead and score anyway. That's happened twice this year so far where the offense could have used that timeout.

I wish Ed O would deny those if the defense isn't getting any stops up to that point in a game. Especially coming out of half-time.

We had cush and lewis last year too - interior line not as good right now especially if ingram is out.

So if a play doesn't work once, we scrap it? Thats a really stupid reason to not run a sneak from the half yard line.

Our interior line was getting abused all day, I doubt Brennan even gets close on a sneak. He's not quick - at all - and our center and OGs were getting pushed back on their heels by their smaller DL.

Really pitiful.

Gilbert would have easily caught both of those passes

Especially since that pass to Carter was probably one of the best passes I have ever seen. Wasted an absolute beauty from Myles.

This is bull shite. Coach O cant always micromanage but the RB, WR, and TE rotations have been off all 3 games. Do something about it...

Yeah I'm not buying it. Orgeron has said before that he allows his coaches to rotate their players as they see fit. Carter shouldn't be running seam routes or routes 20 yards down the field. Hell put in another receiver instead of 44.

It does not matter I love carter and love gilbert. If someone is in the game he needs to make his plays. This is on carter more then it is on the coaches. Carter, boutte, emery, gilbert idc who is in do what you got to do and catch the damn ball when it hits you in the hands.

Carter should not have been in but he was and he had a perfectly run route and myles dropped a dime right in the bread basket. Carter!! Do better! Work on those hands!!

Here’s the bottom line

Coach O misread Pellini and the players readiness to execute a system.

He also misread whether Brennan was capable of running the same plays as Burrow. Imo, that is the most glaring misread.

I'm sick and tired of him trying to take the blame for everything. It wasnt' your fault, it was your idiot TE coach or WR coach, whoever the hell is responsible for that.

He went on to later say that Faulk is the one handling the RB rotation.
It's the position coaches that decide who goes in when.

All that being said, there's no reason for Gilbert or Marshall to not be on the field unless they are hurt. It's stupid for them to not be out there on any play. There isn't one reason anyone could come up with why they shoudn't be on the field for any offensive situation. This isn't pee wee football where you give everyone a turn. Play the best players, and play them all the time when they are head and shoulders better than their replacement.

You are asking the right questions, and you already know the answers

You are hearing about players that would have been limited if we had played this week, but the truth is our coordination on both sides of the ball is limited

The program lost the most important pieces to its success. The obvious question before the season was how important those individuals were, and could we transition to new coordinators and personnel.

Their was an expected dropoff, no doubt. Nobody could have foreseen the bottomless pit that has been evident. We have too much talent for that kind of regression versus our competition to date.

I'll let everyone decide on their own where the real problem lies.
