I would agree dukke, but if we can't pass then don't expect us to run. MS St. has a pretty good defense and we need both pass and run to be successful. Auburn was suppose to have a good offense this year and they only scored 17.

I'm not a JJ lover by any stretch, he is slow to react, to long a throwing motion just not what I would like to see in a QB, I'm just looking at the run blocking of the line, I know you won't have postives everytime but I wasn't seeing any 5-10 yd runs in the first half at all at any time except for reverses. We have big backs, we outa be able to move the line for some postive yards against a Vandy, I'm concerned. Pass protection is better, problem same ole QB and coordinator and head coach. The offense has no identity at all. We do nothing well.

It is hard to tell how good they are at run blocking, because our opponents are putting more people in the box than we can block. It is the same as last year; the QB is not a threat so stack the line to stop the run.

You are correct that the first two opponents often stacked the box, yet the Tigers still churned out over two hundred yard per game and over 5 yds per carry. This bodes well if the passing game ever gets consistantly decent.

Agreed. T-Bob just turned in his best two games on the OL ever, and people still want to bitch.

When I say people I mean Maximus.

The O line is vastly better than last year.

With all the QB talk going on, no one has said a word about the O-line. They are still sub par. We stunk running the ball for 3 Qtrs, Vandy put it to us till they got tired or what ever happened to them. Bama won't get tired and if we block like that, it will be a very long season with things getting worse when the real teams show up.

We ran for 280...and all of that did not come in the 4th quarter.

Plus, this OL is doing a MUCH better job in pass protection.

We don't have a dominating OL. But, If that's what you were expecting, then it is your expections that were out of whack.

I thought the offensive line play was one of the bright spots of the game....

Lonegan (sp) had a great block on one of the TD runs

That's on Gary, not the O-line. Gary is an idiot and needs to go.

Hard to say after just two games. UNC shut us down with a depleted D and Vandy is really not that good. If LSU can run the ball for 250 against MSU I will THEN say they are improved.

Sep 12, 2009 VANDERBILT 42 178 2 14

Sep 19, 2009 UL-LAFAYETTE 36 164 1 20

compared to

Sep 4,2010 vs North Carolina 36 162 1 50

Sep 11, 2010 at Vanderbilt 50 280 3 65

That sure as hell looks like improvement to me. I am not saying they are world beaters, but to say that they are not improved thus far is idiotic.

Holy shite! Do you have any clue how LSU fared against MSU running the ball last year? We rushed the ball for 30 yards.

And you need to see us rush for 250?

Damn, you are one dumb motherfricker.

Removing JJ and Ridley's rushing numbers, LSU averaged 5.4 YPC, gaining 108 yards on 20 carries. The line was effective, particularly in the second half once we stopped getting cute.

Oh, and the line allowed 1 sack. So, high YPC totals and 1 sack allowed... that's normally a good job bythe line.

You need to put the bottle down, so you can perceive what is really going on in the game....

Offensive line A-
offensive backs A-
defense A
kicking B-
qb D+

The lack of an established passing game, effected the running game...YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE SOME PASSES TO BACK UP THE SECONDARY in order for the run to be more productive....

The opposing team isn't afraid of our QB play. They stack the box dude it's simple. O-line is actually pretty decentthis year. Miles will have to start throwing down the field to open up the run. If he really swants to get 200 plus rhing everygame.

I personally thought the offensive line played great. Both lines are light years ahead of where they were last season.

Edited: 5000th post a positive one.
