Everyone is saying we are getting beat on the line but I haven't heard specifics.

Clapp, Brumfield, and the freshman were supposed to be playing well so who it's getting beat and when? Malone on pas rush? Weathersby not getting push on running plays?

Can anyone elaborate? Any short term fixes?

but depth isn't an issue because nobody is injured. Who isn't ready to play or shouldn't be starting?

If you'd listened to Hannity's post-game show, Todd McClure was giving a master's course on OL play. Just off the top of his head, he identified about 6 or 7 plays where different players made glaring mistakes that resulted in a negative play. Assignment issues, hand technique issues, leverage issues, timing issues - and it wasn't limited to the young players.

Yeah - position coaching identifying, communicating and correcting technique errors. Slightly better Oline play alone would have made that a much more competitive contest Saturday night - I'm not saying we lost solely base on Oline play, but that was about 35 to 40 percent of our problem, overall, and probably 2/3 of the offensive problems.

Nothing about last Saturday makes sense.

Our OL doesn't have much depth. That could be a factor across the season but it wasn't an issue vs State.

Nor is experience: 2 seniors, 2 juniors, and 1 fr. Most were highly recruited.

Check out the home page of tiger droppings. Look at the video when Guice got hurt. You tell me how the oline looks. Our line gets no push. Big problems.

5 transferred because they didn't want to play for O.

That is why we got no depth.
Grimes will clearly get blame though.

He surely gets plenty of blame and I am not taking up for the guy but LSU hired him away from VA Tech after just one year and basically doubled his money. Most people seemed to be happy with his coaching and recruiting in 2014 and 2015 and he was kept when Miles got tossed out in 2016 so some of the powers that be must have thought he was doing a decent job.

Malone is not a NFL caliber tackle. Weathersby probably isn't either. Brumfield and Clapp may be one day. Ingram looks good but time will tell.

We just don't have good players on the line. I would also put the blame on Grimes. Whether he isn't devolping players or can't get it done on the recruiting trail, he needs to be replaced.

Moffitt got a hold of them and they have regressed.

The first person O should have fired should have been moffit

Yep. OL got their asses whooped in pass pro. They did okay when running zone and did great with gap blocking.

You have to understand the blocking scheme. Not everything that appears to be a mistake IS a mistake or a missed assignment! Even tho' it may seem that way to the average fan sitting at home watching on TV. But that assessment would be inaccurate.

The specifs on Oline deficiency date back to before the start of season. We forgot this apparently because our line looked really good against the first two inferior opponents.
