Could that injury be worse than reported?

You don’t think he’d have some sort of wrap/brace/knee sleeve/ tape on his knee if he had a significant knee injury?

Complete rainbow ducks. Maxing out at 40 mph. 5 yards short of WR. He is hurt. That isn't a knee problem, that's a rib/ab problem. He's throwing up in rainbow format because he can't throw on line drive which requires more use of ribs/abs. He's injured. 100% sure of that.

He's throwing in upward motion because it puts less pressure on his ribs/abs when you loft the ball up.

Look at him last year. He definitely has a core problem and should sideline

That can certainly happen. But it really doesn’t explain how his arm got weaker

This video is showing you that his mechanics have "changed" causing him to lose distance on his throws because he isn't stepping into them. His arm hasn't gotten weaker. It's also not because he's hurt. He's just not stepping into his deep balls correctly. You can also pull videos from the same game, and he steps into two strong throws over the middle on the last two drives. One of those throws, to Barion Brown on the drive where LSU settled for a field goal after the PJ Woodland interception, The announcers said, "that was Nussmeier's best throw of the night." Because he actually stepped into the throw and split two defenders to hit Barion Brown in stride. On the final drive he did the same thing finding Nick Anderson over the middle. He can do it; he just hasn't been.

Some abdominal injury isn't what's causing him to not step into his throws. He did this same thing quite a bit in 2024 actually. He has been a poor deep ball thrower. Last year he underthrew quite a bit of his deep balls along the sidelines. Skip to 14:13 from this video of LSU vs Ole Miss in 2024. No injury, just Nuss leaning back while throwing a deep ball and getting picked off in the 4th quarter. Its been a problem of his since he began starting in 2024.

If you want to watch some terrible Nussmeier decision making forcing balls into coverage just watch the highlights against A&M last year. Skip to 6:48 and 10:12 for two horrible picks. Skip to 12:42 for him throwing a deep ball and under throwing Aaron Anderson who still fights back and makes the catch. Skip to 15:01 for his third pick of the night.

LSU vs A&M 2024 (I cant embed two videos)

He makes terrible decisions a lot. He's off target a lot. He's just not a very good QB. He is what he is. The last play against USC in his first game of 2024 he just completely misses over the middle and throws a pick. Against Alabama he did the same and had 3 turnovers in that game.

All of the hype around Nuss this year was in hope that he'd improve going into his second year as a starter and because he's a 5th year senior. People expected a Burrow like jump. He's just not the player that Burrow was/is. He reads the game poorly, makes bad decisions, forces throws, can't throw a deep ball, etc.

Nuss mechanically has always used his hips more when he throws. He's not able to do that due to the abdomen injury and it really shows. His injury is much worse than BK said or LSU is letting on. It's time to sit him until he heals 100%.

if you start MVB your mailing it in for the season and that would be a bad message to your team

Does it look like Ole Miss is mailing it in?

We are consistently 3rd & long because we cannot generate offense on 1st & 2nd. Look at Ole Miss that switched to their backup QB that's more mobile. We do not need to play the homerun ball with Van Buren, hell we can't effectively play it with Nuss. If Van Buren can help get any positives on 1st/2nd to set up 3rd and manageable then that gives us a better chance to win, period.

Bye week followed by 3-2 South Carolina, I'd switch to Van Buren at least for that game to give Nuss 2 full weeks rest before the Vanderbilt game. Sloan would have 2 weeks to scheme offense around him.

I also would have rested Nuss vs Southeastern.

Sloan's play-calling is a problem calling plays, no doubt. But Nuss is simply not being good this year. Not just throw execution, but several of his decisions this year have just been downright Freshman level 1st year starter bad. In my opinion its pretty clear he's injured, torso injury already admitted by Kelly and evident by Nuss rarely following through on his throws. People point to mechanics as the problem and some plays do show poor mechanics, which even in the past he was not the most mechanically sound, but now with it being this routinely it's plausible that the injury is affecting his mechanics also.

Rotation of the core or the knee?

Video looks like he is staying off the knee.

He has also run less and seemed slower and less mobil when he has tried to turn.

I want to start by saying that I’ve been on the Nuss Bus since last year.
However, I’ve said since the beginning of the year that he looked tentative on that knee. I got downvoted, but I could tell that he wasn’t able to push the ball and he wasn’t getting tight spirals on his balls.
If he’s dealing with “jumper’s knee” as was reported, It can’t heal in such a short time. It takes a longer rest.
However, last year he was able to get more zip (although with less accuracy), even falling back. That indicates a torso injury. Could be a little of both.

The point is, he definitely needs rest and won’t get it unless he’s benched. He’s hurting himself by risking not only his draft stock, but also a more serious injury. As important, he’s hurting the team. A leader needs to put the team first.
But, the team first approach needs to fall on the head coach. He’s responsible for putting the team in the best position to compete, week in and week out. That’s not happening.

Shaun I think its core. The way he throws his back hip forward on the follow through tells me he's avoiding something painful. Nuss doesn't handle pain well. If it was knee, it would be obvious every step.

I’ve noticed this pretty much every throw. Looks like a weaker follow through and not bring the back leg fully around. Much like a pitcher not following through. He’s throwing with all arm which is why he’s under throwing so much. I hate it for him but decent qb play wins that game. Van Buren provides the threat of run and prob improves our run game bc of that. He prob picks up those 3rd and shorts.

He hasn’t felt comfortable trying to plant his foot all year. No plant foot + Not rotating due to foot plant= Underthrowing balls

His head coach also said he’s bullish on the worst o line in the conference.

It’s amazing that grown adults still put any stock into what football coaches say publicly.
