Nuss is playing great for a 1st year starter. He will continue to improve. He is exceeding my expectations so far.

Especially when he gets out of the pocket. He's not a great passer on the run and I'm not sure why the coaches insist on him running bootlegs to his right every 3rd play.

It’s partly to help get his receivers open. Also to get him throwing closer to the LOS than 17 yards behind it. Sometimes he trusts his arm too much. And he should trust it—he’s got a great arm and he’s really accurate. But there was one play yesterday where he completed like a 4 yard out to the sideline, but he had backed up so much it traveled like 35 yards in the air. If he hadn’t thrown it perfectly to the outside—if he had just thrown it not even behind the WR, but just at his chest—or if the DB anticipates it and gets there a split second earlier, he jumps it and it’s another pick 6.

But overall, I’ve been impressed with his ball protection. It was bad yesterday, but he’s been really good up until then. I love that he made those mistakes yesterday and we still found a way to win. A lot more fun watching film to learn and get better coming off a win instead of a loss caused by your 99-yard pick 6.

when someone says he is one of the best in the biz, you have to talk him down from that.

Reason: he's not one of the best in the biz

Nuss doesn't even have two top 5 NFL WRs like JB had or 2 first rd receivers JD5 had.

On this we agree. He's a good QB, but he has a way to go to be one of the best.

He needs better play calling too. I watch teams like Texas, Tenn, Ole Miss and the other top teams a receivers are wide open often or there are quick designed plays over the middle to get yac.

No you wont

Youre one of the 3 idiots that have down voted Nuss' stat line. How do you down vote a stat line? Its simply a piece of sports information for comparison purposes. Nuss' stat line shows that he is one of the best in FBS, currently

You only down vote that if you dont want him to be seen in a good light. Thats sad. And pathetic. And obvious

I know right. Who would have ever imagined that passing the ball against Nicols would provide better results than passing against USCw and USCe.

Lester Earl just hates white people.

Reminds me of J Lee. Falls backward on throws...

And for the love of God, don't run backwards when you feel pressure! We can't lose 15 yds on a sack

But he is not performing in the 4th qtr. He needs to learn to be clutch under pressure.

Neither of things are even remotely accurate. The only correct thing is he’s white.

This is true, but he is actually more mobile than many think. I suspect they are not allowing him to run because we would likely be in a bind if he went down. Still, hope he starts running a few key times a game.

Nuss has started 4 games now, and has thrown for almost 1300 yards with 13TDs and 3 interceptions. That is pretty damn great, and he will only get better if he stays healthy. If he comes back next year, you will see much improvement, although he is already good.

He's off to a good start, especially now that he's looking upfield more.

He also has opportunities to scramble for short third down conversions and has the athleticism to do so, he just needs to peel out and hit the edge from time to time to keep them honest.

we get it Lester, you are in several threads shitting all over him....we get he isn't what you prefer, if you know what I mean....because his performance has been exceptional for having only started 4 games. He also will get better and better with experience. He will be in the NFL a long time, if he remains healthy.
