Watching Bear Jones improve 1000% from last season. Crazy power and his discipline and approach at the plate were awesome. Cut down big time on his strikeouts and he learned to hit the breaking ball. He should do very well at the next level. Also, can't wait to see how much better we will be in 2025 - even w/o Jones and White. Pitching is lining up nicely. Just need to stay healthy. Geaux Tigers!

The improvement at the end of the year. It was a rough start but good teams with good coaching usually start playing their best ball when it starts to matter. We did that but just fell short to a great team. I think Jay has this program in great standing moving forward. Just need to smash the portal and hit on a few of these top prospects and keep them from going pro.

One thing we should start to realize is that Johnson is a very good post season coach. 3 weeks ago we didn’t know if we would make a regional. From there we were in it in the 9th and 10th for an SEC tournament win and then a possible regional win against the number 4 team in the country, out of the losers bracket. I don’t know how he gets more out of his pitchers in the post season than regular season, but he continues to do it.

I know the outcome for this season was not ideal but considering what we had to work with all season, I’d say we finished about where we should have. We never had consistent play at catcher, the outfield or at the plate but somehow Johnson was able to make it work to beat some really good teams in Hoover, and to put other really good teams on the ropes. We were in position to beat a lot of top 10 teams this year but just lost those games in the 8th and 9th inning. This was due to our deficiencies that could have only been covered up by hot bats, and no coach can know when his team will be swinging hot bats.

Dude was great this season. Definitely gets my vote for most improved offensively. Reminds me of a young Mark McGwire with his power. He absolutely crushes the ball when he gets a hold of it.

He drew 15 walks/HBP in the SECT and regional. That is insane. On top of hitting 6 out of the park in that time frame.

Teams really wanted nothing to do with him this postseason. I can only imagine if he had some true protection in the lineup what his numbers could have been. A lot of the year Pearson or Travinski was behind him in the lineup and frankly those guys just didnt strike a ton of fear in the opposing pitching.

It will really suck if we lose him to the draft after only 2 years, I hope he comes back for 1 more.
