Denbrock looked fine when Nuss was in the game

To be fair the UGA defense did not prepare for Nuss and they kind of went into prevent. Nussmeier's performance in the second half of the SEC Championship game is a little bit fools gold and I LOVE Nuss' arm talent. But Nuss is not the answer until he takes care of the turnover issues.

We don’t put enough stress on the defense when they drop and Daniels never gets comfortable finding the soft spots. Daniels needs to get better throwing on the run to help with this. Rolling him out and flooding zones with routes would be a great way to make him more effective when defenses play drop coverage. It forces defenders in the stressed zones to think and have to read multiple guys, creating opening. It also gives Daniels a better opportunity to run vs a zone. We don’t run this nearly enough.

One positive- not every team is able to play drop coverage well. Most college teams don’t play a ton of zone, so they often don’t execute it that well. Remember the beginning of the Georgia game? They went away from drop coverage after two drives of us moving the ball with little trouble. Arnett at State refuses to play anything but aggressive man. Odom was the best at drop zone because that’s his base D, but he’s gone now.

Nice.

Denbrock has to be patient with the running game

Or find a QB who can execute a passing game

Right now it's probably the biggest need alongside DB in the portal we need to address. Need a vet CB, S, RB, and ILB. Any RB they take from portal should be top shelf we don't need another rotational guy like Cain. We need someone who will carry the load and rush for 100+. It should be a very easy selling point for any RB on a smaller school for exposure to come play at LSU alongside JD for 1 year to jump to NFL. Watch this. I have no doubt LSU is trying to get someone in the portal. JD's legs absolutely open the run game up for the RBs so imagine what a top shelf elite one could do with him.
