9 mil over 2/3 years is a lot for a coordinator. If it's 9 mil over 5, or so, then it's just a normal deal. He is probably guaranteed 2-3 years, even if it doesn't go well. So they are paying a max buy out of like 4 mil if the deal is over 5 years. It's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.
But so many of you are scorned from Denbrock leaving that you are trying to justify how it's a terrible move.

This is not Joe Sloan or Joe Brady we're talking about. Denbrock is about as proven commodity as you can get. Done it over the long haul. He's not going to go up to South Bend and suddenly lay an egg.

Notre Dame is still pissed LSU made them look like what they truly are. A mid tier program and minor league coaching program. So they want to get back they offer Kelly the house. He’s laughs at them…..next is Denbrook who was always a 1-2 year stop gap for Kelly. So they overpaid a coach that was most likely leaving anyways just to point their finger at LSU………..mean while back to independence bowl for the next decade. But they got us yall. They elite ??????

How can some of you be this dumb? I can't understand it. You can hate Notre Dame, that's fine. They are not a mid tier program though, and they have had great coaches go through there.

This is dumber than the first thing you said. Denbrock was absolutely not a stop gap, and could have been here as long as he wanted.
