We are the best baseball program on the planet. So we get great talent on that alone. It's time in my mind to get a new coach with hunger. Thanks Paul compensate find the new guy????

In all fairness, LSU was beat out the last 2 years by the eventual National Champs...... there’s still not many, if any, other programs as consistent as LSU Baseball

The new guy is coaching high school in New Orleans “AC” but I don’t think PM would allow LSU to hire him. Only way for that to happen would be if PM is not involved in the hire at all, which I don’t think would be the case

I love the anti-LSU, pro-Pawl crowd telling us LSU isn’t the top program in the country. It’s by far the worst and most disgraceful excuse they love to promote and it’s irrefutable proof of fans holding a coach above a program.

we are not the premier baseball program on the planet...that train ride left the station after skipper retired....1 title in 19 years....there are 10 schools that can make that claim today...lsu aint one of the them, not anymore...since the beginning of last year we are 63-41...come on man

Oregon St ,South Carolina, Vanderbilt just to name a few.

I'd like to simply point out Vanderbilt only has 1 championship and 2 championship appearances.

The same number as Mainieri in 4 more years with his respective school.

You’re right, may as well hold onto Marinara and watch the program slowly rot.

I was a huge CPM supporter up until a few years ago when I began to see that he has become complacent with just getting by. We need a change to breath some life back into this great baseball tradition we have at LSU

Been to Omaha and just didnt get it done or get the breaks needed.

Dont forget many many of our top talent guys leave early or never make it to campus after committing.
Thats why baseball sucks when youre a top team. You get a couple of guys per year committed and then they go in the first couple of rounds and bolt.

Of course that hurts us during the season

what’s interesting is how this idea of people liking a coach more than a program was never really discussed on here until O was hired and O fans and people that think everything is like football came around.

I would argue LSU and Texas are the top 2 programs neither have won a CWS in a decade. The problem is people then think other programs can’t become good. The irony of that mentality is if it was true then LSU would never have been good because USC was the top program before that. Like it or not it’s more competitive now, programs like Ole Miss and State (who was better than LSU before the 90s) can be equals.

As for the multiple titles Vanderbilt only won 1 and BTW did not win with their best team that went 26-3 in SEC but lost in the Supers. Oregon St won 2 in a row and then last year. But lost with a team that had 4 losses all year. So Car wan 2 in a row but that coach retired

The guys a good coach there’s no denying that but LSU’s program has lost its fire and it may be time for a change

money. resources. facilities. fan support. name brand/recognition. there was an advocate article about it last year or so. yes, lsu is the premier cbb program still - except in cws terms

if there was one team out there winning multiple championships you would have a point
so the fact that lsu isn't even in the top 5 in cws record over the last 9 seasons doesn't bother you?

pretty certain LSU has more wins than any other program over the past 10 years
ah yes. the old regular season wins/national seed retort
