Not calling for a review on the out of bounds play = proof of incompetence.

I don't even remember the last time a team didn't call for a review when their opponent clearly stepped out of bounds earlier than where officials spotted the ball. The fans knew it. The announcers showed it and knew it, but for some reason, the LSU coaching staff didn't know it.
How many swinging dicks have access to the headset mic or can relay that a review needs to be called? And yet, no one did. Would LSU have won if this was done? Obviously not, but it's one of the clearest signs of systemic incompetence.

were you drunk? they moved the spot back to where he stepped out. it was the announcer that said the gain was to the one.

The incompetence showed it self earlier than that.

he did not step out at the 7, they were correct. They marked us at the 4
