The offense will get going. I’m more worried about the pitching. We’re so far along removed from the days of a Gausman and Nola rotation. You’d figure we would’ve learned from last year with Hess but i guess not. Ik it’s only game 2 but man, things look rough. I was hoping baseball would be able to make up for what football has let me down on but damn.

We're gonna need some young guy's step up (Pitching)

No doubt

Next weekend will be a good series to see where we're at and see what CPM does with the pitching line up.

It’s the second game of the season.

Everybody knew this team had a lot of question marks in key areas.

Both are right. This is the first time in quite some time it doesn’t feel like we have an ace on this staff. I was hoping gilbert would build off that oregon State start but damn even he looks rough.

We always suck early. Panic 3/4 of the way into sec play if we haven’t flipped a switch. Our MO is to go from borderline tournament team to top 8 seed in the last 6 weeks of the season

Gilbert and Hess weren't question marks. Let's see what they do week 2.

Lange/Poche/Walker were our 1-2-3 last year. Yeah....we are very far removed from having good starting pitching.

Since I hurt your feelings so bad in the last thread, I'll call you fricking stupid again in this one.

As a reliever? Yes.
As a starter? No.

last year we started the same damn way (except Poche'). things will get ironed out whether Hess is the starter or not. the number of walks we issued last year was frightening (starters and pen). maybe there is a problem concerning pre season preparations, who knows?

Slaughter won’t be starting whenever everybody gets back correct?

Honestly I think Hess still has a chance to settle in. He missed a lot of pitches close. A different umpire and it could be different. Offense jumps out to a big lead instead of starting slow and it changes things some also. I'd give him 3 weekend starts and see where Hess is at then make a change if needed. We won't go far if Hess can't fill that spot unless a youngster surprises us. It's worth giving Hess some time.

Is this Notre Dame's second game of the season? They seem to be more comfortable in Alex Box than our team.

I don't think Hess will be starting for long. He will move back into the closet role.
Should have asked Cartwright to come out of retirement.

Lange wasn’t the same after 2015. Poche was nice but never lived up to the hype. I actually like Walker.

But yeah how’d that fricking rotation work in the CWS finals?

Again, i hope that this is early season jitters but frick man, this team has me a bit worried. Your team only goes as far as your pitching takes you.

Wtf? Winningest pitcher in LSU history didn’t live up to the hype?

You can't be fricking serious. That starting rotation MADE it to the CWS finals. How many of them pitched in the CWS finals?
