When LSU was on defense and the crowd was screaming, the side ribbon video boards were showing Coke and Community Coffee ads rather than flashing "get loud" messages like in the past. WTF??
I mean I get the idea that we need ads. My issue is the completely static ads on the video board. If the issue is 60% of ads need to be coke, that’s fine, but have them rotating, not just permanent ad space that is never used for football.
We use this company called LSU Sports Properties, they are the exclusive marketing and multimedia rights holders of LSU. They are a semi independent marketing consultant owned by (my understanding at least) CBS. It seems like maybe in the past they agreed to some poorly worded contracts that have made our video board usage to be subpar when compared to other schools or professional teams. I really think that the AD, TAF and the head of that company need to reevaluate what they consider a successful ad space sale. And that determination should not just be dollar amount. Flexibility of video board use and fan experience should be of equal or greater consideration. Especially now that TV money is starting to become a much greater percentage of total revenue. That means in stadium ad space is less and less important.

When the ad space is turned off it really emphasizes how little space of the video board is devoted to video
It's really awful. I'm shocked LSU hasn't sold naming rights to Tiger Stadium, the field, the goal posts, each down, individual seats...we put ads on everything and its tacky as frick.
