You should have asked me about that, I tried it the day before, woke up the same disbelief

It was the best feeling in the world to end that game with a goose egg on the other side.
I'm sure it was.
I'm not sure any different gameplan would have been enough to beat that Bama D that night.

I'm I'm Atlanta, too. I actually avoided going out anywhere on Tuesday except to Target for groceries. Didn't see any Bama flags on cars as I drove. Only person to say something was my cashier to another. She said, "Roll Tide." I got a sick feeling. The other cashier said she felt so bad for LSU. Bama fan agreed. I quickly left with my twins.
I'm still in shock over such a bad night. It doesn't seem real. I'll always love my team and school, but right now it's just kinda sad.

Well with my co-workers, I can say the same. Most have been "What happened?"
But yesterday when going to lunch I had a group of older (yep, older) men (I won't call them gentlemen as they were not) start some crap. I have a large LSU Tiger head on my back window as soon as I got out of my truck...they started with the "LSwho" and "Roll Tide" and pointing at me. I just walked past, thinking, why can't some people just act their age and not their shoe size. I mean, come on, these guys were at least 45-50 years old. One dude could have been 60. It's a shame.

I will say that I completely believe that Les did not give y'all the opportunities y'all needed to win. But as prepared as we were, I don't think it would have mattered. Of course that could be the homer in me talking.

Yeah...Making excuses will cause huge arguments amongst the best fans.

I've been getting the same thing here in Gatorland. Most non-LSU fans around here were pulling for LSU that I know of and all of them seemed dismayed and confused as to what they witenessed on Monday. I have no answers for them. It is a bad feeling being the recipient of all this 'pity'.

ThaKaptin,
Go away. I am not talking about message board stuff. I'm talking about real life. And yes, these are real Bama fans, alumni, season ticket holders, people who have shrines in their house with autographed footballs, who came up in the 70's, and are generally obnoxious. They aren't giving anything back and are glad they won, but are totally confused about what happened to their opponent.
If you can't see something was wrong, you don't know football and haven't watched LSU this year.
That said, great game by Bama. You deserved the win and are champions. No asterisk by it.
We're just trying to figure out what happened to our team.

Living in Madison the reaction from Al. fans is very different from what u are experiencing. They are all gloating & still think they won the first game! They don't even think Lsu belonged in the NC. The way the OF played I tend to agree with them. That is the worst offense I have ever seen . For some of u young kids that said this LSU team is the best ever, U sure show your age. The 58-59& early 60 teams would kick this years teams arse.

They are an overall classy fanbase.

You need to change your signature quote and add 2011.

Hey bro, I'm just giving you my thoughts as a Bama fan. No need to get riled up about it. I have those same shrines in my house anda those same season tickets.

None of my Bama friends are gloating. All are asking what happened.
I'm pretty nice about all of this other than my big rant thread yesterday, but you will never see me or any other true Bama fan say those things. Like I said, not rubbing it in. Just relaying feelings as a true Bama fan.
So all the posts in this thread are just outright lies ??????????????????? Just because YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU say no Bama fan would say that, that makes it universally so?
And I guess the "true" Bama fans are SUPPOSED to 'gloat' and 'rub it in' ??
You're right about that. You proved that about self-righteous "true" Bama fans like your wonderful self. So do your fans in the stands with "Rammer Jammer" cheeer, which some of your more human-resembling fans pass off as "tradition" and we're supposed to be ok with that.
You people DISGUST me. And "like you said" you ARRRRRRRRRRRE rubbing it in.
I just hope to everything holy that I get a chance to "RUB IT IN" to you wonderful proud examples of humanity on November 3.
Enjoy your 2nd place SEC West Division trophy.

The 58-59 and early 60's teams had an average size along the offensive and defensive lines of around 6 feet and 200-210 pounds. A decent high school team today would kill them.
Sorry. That was 50 years ago.

Sorry. It's just when you said they weren't real Bama fans. I am talking about real life, not anonymous message board posters. I know these people. Of course, I have good friends and stay away from the idiot side of the fanbase. There are lots of sane Bama fans out there who are good people.

Alot of the same here. I had a few say something, but I took the high road, smiled, and agreed we got beat. After I did that, they were pretty cool and just wanted to know what happened. Still sucks living here after Monday, and I made the mistake of listening to Finebaum yesterday for a little while. NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!! The Updykes that call that show are pitiful.
Everybody just keeps asking WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!

This is in essence what is at the root of what most Bama fans are feeling. They all loved that they shut out LSU in the National Championship Game, but they have to feel cheated. The team they played on Monday would not have won 13 games, it would have struggled to win 9.

Getting pretty much the same reaction here, except for the die-hard, toothless, morons who think they won the first game by two touchdowns.
Sympathy from Gumps and Boogs? It's like I've been in bizarro world since kickoff.

I like listening to that show sometimes because it's funny...but I won't be listening to that show again until next season...no reason to pile on.
LSU would have tons of fans bragging and trashing Bama if we would have won....it is what it is.
