Surprising stat. Coaches did a good job rotating players and distributing minutes last night without Smart and Reid.

Props to Benford and the other coaches. They did a fantastic job preparing for this game and had great rotations as you mentioned. Team didn't miss a beat without WW.

Graves and Days being able to score really took the pressure off the starting 5. Vandy is really bad, but the team came out and played with a fire.

The players are in good hands.

I really liked seeing Graves get quality minutes. He looked totally comfortable last night, and in the Tenn game. Dude can shoot lights out.

Must be included in Benford’s binder...

A couple things to note:

although you can't count on making 3 pt shots, Wade has said in the past that Graves was actually their best shooter.

Days is a big thumper, in addition to apparently having a nice shot. I never worried about his minutes, but it was good to see him score like he did.

Graves didn't look like a walkon, he was competent on the court. He didn't kill you athletically like lots of walkons do, and he seemed like he could absolutely play in a pinch without disaster. And now that he's actually hit some 3's in a live game, he might be a bit of a zone-buster option going forward.
Both those guys played over 20 minutes yesterday.

The only scrub they played was the tall white kid, Reese. They were able to steal 2 minutes without it hurting the team.

As for Vandy, there were several guys who looked ok. Lee looked good, and so did big white dude, and I thought they had another guy who looked ok rebounding.
They're not a tourney team, but it's shocking that they went 0-fer in the conference... I thought Bryce Drew was supposed to be a decent coach. They had pieces that were much better than the team as a whole.

Vandy had some injuries this year but you're right, they should have won a few conference games. Drew had the #13 recruiting class last year. Which is shocking for a school like Vandy.

For a walk on I was surprised he had no hesitancy about taking his shots. Even before last night it was evident.

Yep. Props to the coaches for giving him the green light. He looked totally confident.

One of our best played games of the year, the team and coaches clearly had a fire with al that’s gone down this season and with the SEC championship on the line. Props to them for coming out and doing what we know they’re capable of despite the adversity. Crowd was electric too like I haven’t seen in years in the PMAC.

When the 3s are falling, I am convinced we can play with and beat any team in the country

Kid deserves credit for even making the team given his circumstances.

That's a punk-arse way to refer to a player on the team that u follow.

Yeah, that is worded badly. No insult meant to the kid.

"End of bench, walk-on, practice body, has no real business playing major D-1 basketball". Again, no insult, but in over his head both talent and athletically, and he'd get crushed facing most teams. Every team has a few, most see the court only in rare occasions like this.

Like I said above, Graves doesn't seem to fit into that category, that kid looks like he could claim a scholarship somewhere and get steady playing time.

Apologies to Reese, I'm glad he got onto the court and played a few minutes. And I'm happy for him that he didn't get embarrassed when he did. Would have been awesome if he could have gotten a shot, but I see he did get an assist

I think they should have more walk-ons on the roster just in case stuff like this happens. Being down to 8 players is not good. What if you got to double OT and guys foul out or get injured?

That said, it was Vandy. You can’t have Reese on the court against a legit opponent. Graves has proved he belongs.

We need naz back and hopefully smart. 8 players to play 3 days is far from ideal
U cant even say just give the walkons some minutes Reese is literally the only one
