[embed]ND's only win over a ranked team is #25 Wisconsin They lost to BYU, which lost to unranked UCF. So why are they so much higher? At best, they should be the lowest ranked 1 loss team.[/embed]

Notre Dame has ALWAYS gotten the fanboy vote. Been that way as far back as I can remember which is sometime in the 1960’s.
It’s one of the reasons they are an Independent. They schedule one or two tough opponents each year then fill in the remaining dates in their schedule with teams that are at best mediocre but usually much worse.
Usually every year they start ranked in the top 10. Then as other Top 10 teams lose they move up because the usually beat their unworthy opponent. Every now and again an occasional BYU comes along for a reality check.
