I would think Campbell and Emory are plug in play guys right away with Bradford and Dellinger. But you're right on center

but they really didn't

They weren’t very good early, but people love to gloss over the fact that they were blowing Bama and Clemson off the ball late in that season to close games. But there were also 3 NFL guys on that line who aren’t here anymore, so it’s not a direct comparison to today.

My guess is they grab 2 players out the portal for o line.

At least one unless someone takes a step forward under Davis, which isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Good coaches often get more out of guys.

At least help is finally on the way in the 22 class. They just need to sustain this level of O Line recruiting going forward. Hopefully Davis can build on this class and establish LSU as a prime destination for quality O Linemen.

You guys think life is Madden football.

New OC, playbook, vocabulary, new O-line coach...complex, not simple.

D reads/reacts...night and day different curve.

They’re not good. When you continually miss on top level talent and then haven’t been able to develop the players. I like Davis and hope he proves dividends.

Prior to the scrimmage yesterday, all the reports were that the offensive line was going to be significantly better in 2021 and significantly deeper as well.

At this point in fall camp, during scrimmages the defense is always ahead of the offensive line. Hence, it's not time to hit the panic button yet like some of you loons who obviously don't know anything about football are doing.

Run, run for your life! Every man for himself! The sky is falling! The offensive line is horrible. Give me a break, hit the panic button.

Outside of QB, Oline is the biggest weakness on this team

Neither are weaknesses except for in the mind of dumb low-information football fans.

Seek mental help. Who knows, maybe your unhinged mind will eventually clear up enough for you to finally learn and understand football.

Please forgive the significant percentage of the fan base that believed all of the reports that came out last season also

Pssst...... We have no reason to believe any of those reports

But I do admit that the OL improving isn’t a given.

Well, according to all the reports prior to yesterday's first scrimmage, it already has.

Now had I heard that the offensive line had beaten the defensive line yesterday in the first scrimmage of the fall camp, I'd be exceedingly worried that the defense was going to be like last season.

Thank God that wasn't the news coming out of that scrimmage yesterday and the news was just exactly the opposite. As the defensive line is always ahead of the offensive line at this point in fall camp.

Lighten up, Francis. New OC, new line coach, 1st scrimmage. That is all.

We have been told this for many years.
First its the first scrimmage lets give them a break then its the first game lets give them a break then 8 games later we are still saying they are not very good. This has to stop hoping the new oline coach can change this culture on the Oline.

Not according to several reports I heard of people that have been watching practices since the start of fall camp. Their reports are that Kardell is finally starting to look better in his form and that he is finally becoming more consistent.

Moreover, all of those same people are claiming also that the OL will be significantly better than it was in 2020 and they are also saying that it will also be deeper than last season as well.

Meanwhile, idiots who don't understand anything about football are hitting the panic button because the defense beat the offensive line in the first scrimmage of the season, when the defensive line always beats the offensive line in he first scrimmage of the season unless there is something very bad wrong with the defensive line.

I understand the defense is usually ahead of the offense early in the season, but this OL has been together long enough that they should not have these huge lapses. This OL should not be getting dominated like they are now!

Ed O said most of the plays yesterday were third downs situations. So the defense had their rush specialist in the game with their ears penned back. Meanwhile, that is super tough for any offensive line.

Not to mention that both QBs hit on well over 50 percent of their passes. So it couldn't have been that bad.

You're making idiotic assumptions even though you didn't even watch the scrimmage.

Meanwhile, another person who spoke to a former player who actually watched the scrimmage yesterday, said the former player wasn't in the least concerned about the offensive line. As he said it is always that way in the first scrimmage of the season. He also said, don't make any mistake, this LSU defense is fully back and is going to be really good in 2021 and then he praised Daronte Jones and his coaching staff. He also said, that Major Burns also got another interception yesterday and that the linebackers are looking really good. Oh yeah, he said John Emery and the other young running backs all did very well yesterday as well.

We dead? Wow you people really do make me laugh! Thanks.

Anyway Purple Tiger King said it so many times that my head is spinning but he’s correct when he says there are many people posting about the OL struggles and have no clue. You don’t know what type of plays were called, you don’t know how fast they went, you don’t know how many consecutive plays they ran, you don’t know if they were put in tough situations just to see them respond or if they surprised them with these situations.

Our OL in 2019 did not suck. You people expect the Oline to be perfect which won’t happen. They will get beat because there are players on the defense who want to make plays too. Like poster above said, O specifically mentioned that the defense got to pin their ears back a bit and the day before they were praised about their physical style.

So stop with the sky falling narrative. Some of you are really showing your arse here and you’re embarrassing yourself. It isn’t a good look. I hope you’re just young people who don’t know better but I know better and that is worse.

The OL will be fine. I also want to mention that the OL had some decent games last year as well. The Florida game specifically and there were more, so I’m not real sure where some of you get this from??? It’s honestly perplexing! They aren’t the best in the country but they are good enough to produce a good season for the Tigers! 11-1 or 9-3 floor imo. The loss not necessarily to Bama either! I think Florida might be where we slip up. I think Bama is winnable this year. Go Tigers!
