Riding with Cowan, your best bullpen arm, is smart it just didn’t work out. Two balls 50 mph off the bat and then a three run bomb that’s just baseball

Direct any anger at our inconsistent hitting.

Since they had hit Cowen’s really hard the first game, I wish he had brought in Rizzy. 97-98 and a quirky delivery. He was ready in the pen

I agree. He played it exactly how I hoped he would bringing in Cowan. We win in that scenario well over 80% of the time. Just not today.

Hindsight is 20/20. Cowan has shut down almost everyone, except a couple Aggies this series.

ATM did not see Rizzy well. In hindsight he probably should of pitch Rizzy but I can't fault him going with Cowan instead.

I think 0% of coaches out Rizzy in with Cowan Available in that situation.

This. It's a numbers game. This is why average is so important in baseball...just happened that the 20% showed up today.

The beauty of baseball is you can make all the right moves and lose.... and you can make all the wrong moves and sometimes win.
It's a tough game... always has been.

Rizy was burned. He threw 22 pitches 18 hours prior, right about his average. He has never thrown twice in a weekend.

Cowan gave up one well hit ball in game 1. He was not "lit up" as others have posted on this board.

He is your closer. He has been your closer. He has shown he can go twice in a weekend. He threw a bad pitch. It happens.

It's exactly what he'll do in post season in this situation. Pitching is set, it either works or it doesn't.

Hitting has to improve, or we're cooked.
