If you go to the day games then unfortunately you will have more no shows. I don't know which is worse , the no shows or the empty stadium just about after the 3rd quarter if not sooner.

Am I crazy, did LSU used to have 8:00 kickoffs, or was it always 7:00 home games?

End the excessive tailgating. When the social event is more important than the game, priorities are out of kilter.

This, I don't care about. Tailgating is out of control. I've been saying it for a couple of years. It's overshadowing the game and having negative impacts on the campus. It needs to be scaled back, and I don't care who it pisses off or how much money they've sunk into it. Nobody forced them to buy that $15000 tailgate rig.

wait, you're being serious?

Usually 7, but the late ESPN2 game is an 8pm kickoff I think and we did that a few times.

I don't think it was a normal thing but it seemed like at least one game a season back in the day used to start later.

The empty stadium was mentioned by Holly Rowe and by the two announcers as if the whole nation couldn't see the empty seats for themselves. I watched football yesterday from the time Game Day came on air on E.S.P.N. I didn't see another stadium empty as early as Tiger Stadium ........especially with the game still on the line. It took decades to get the magic back and now it is gone, again.

it doesn't matter when the game happens....tiger stadium is clearing out after halftime...if it isn't texas a&m, bama or a fiercely contested ole miss. game.

a big part of the traffic problem now is the stadium is much bigger than it used to be with basically the same roads leading away from the stadium

We used to have 7:30 p.m. kickoffs but when Bob Brodhead became A.D. , he started to make the kickoff times at 7:00 p.m. I think it was to have the games finish earlier so that the eastern press would still have time to cover Tiger Football and have in the papers before their deadlines.

It looked F'ing pathetic on tv

BTW--I live in DC, but the games I so make I never leave early. I camped out for 3 days for LSU-UM tickets as a student. Rained like crazy n we were manhandled but refused to leave.

Ok, so hypothetically what if there was a new 4 lane thruway. Do you think this would help keep people until the end of the game?

What we really need is a subsidy program so poor white trash can get discounts for football tickets. Apparently the only people who can stay the whole game and yell loudly are the "blue collar" folks who work on cars and dig ditches for a living.
This for sure would make the tiger stadium experience much better.

before brodhead they were at 8..... but this was back in the days when you could only be on TV twice a year

the big problem is the as the stadium got bigger the routes out did not....

not only is the stadium bigger but there are substantially more people on campus until after the games now.

leaving the florida lsu game in 97 - it took less time getting home than it did for uab game

Were those other games you watched with full stadiums night games? Had people spent 8 hours getting rained on before the game? Was their team up by 21 points when they decided the whole game was under control?

I have less issues with those who left last night who obviously mistakenly assumed the team and Miles would continue more of the same in the second half, than say those who left the Troy game a few years back when we were down at half time. Now THAT game the stadium was deserted after the half, cold, miserable and the players showed they'll play to any size audience.

Also people seem to forget early in the week estimates were being touted that only 65k would show up. There were a bunch more than that who did watch the first half. So quit whining about it. If you stayed more power to you but there's no prizes awarded nor does it make those who did better fans.

As I have stated I cannot understand people who leave at half time or the beginning of the fourth quarter, just stay home.

Jmo but just crazy, if you do not like traffic watch on TV donate your tickets to someone who is interested
