They all live in a fantasy world where they think LSU can just hire any damn coach they want to.
They can, We Are...LSU

Great post! A good way to avoid all the morons that dont like Miles and dont think hes a successful coach is the simply ignore them. They will always be around and will never go away!

One firing that makes no sense is nebraska with solich was he alumni?
They had just won 3 titles in 4 years under Osborne and had what alot of people consider the best team ever in 95. So just like some of the absurd people on this board, they thought Frank Solich was doing a shitty job by only going 9-4, 12-1, 10-2, 11-2, 7-7(kinda like Les in 08,) and then 9-3. But he did get blown out of a BCS title game.

Cause they had no business being in it.

how LSU can never replace Miles and is destined to fail once he leaves.
you are completely missing the point and are deflecting the post. hiring a new coach, even one that is currently successful, is damn risky. curly hallman was a highly sought after up and comer when we hire him; he had the best offense in football. of course, we learned a kid named bret farve was the reason. it's not that LSU is destined to fail but that the risk of failure is 100% there and that is not debatable by anyone with any experience (or common sense). why mess with success when we could end up like ALABAMA, NOTRE DAME, USC or MICHIGAN just to name a few elite programs that spent years, even decades trying to find the "right guy" after a successful coach left. THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES. none. TCU is friggin' 7-4 right now but many LSU fans think their coach would be magic here, for example. if you don't understand the risk, don't attempt to be a top performer in the business world.

Ah great, another fearful diatribe about how LSU can never replace Miles and is destined to fail once he leaves.
I said it was possible to replace him with someone better, but wanting him gone for sake of being gone is ignorant at best. You want to let go of Miles, fine, but I'm going to want to know who we will get for sure before I support that decision. Most fools on this board want anyone and think coaches will flock to LSU. It's preposterous.

Outstanding post - glad to see rational thought

Reread the original post... no mention of destiny to fail. Just facts about the results other successful programs have seen when they made changes.
If you want to argue the facts, I'm listening.

I put the winning percentage with the loss first? .810 or .817, what is the big deal?
It was a vacated win for PSU. LSU will forever have a loss in the 2010 Capital One Bowl.
While you make a lot of good points, ending your post with false information hurts your entire argument.

Tennessee 2008: Forced Phillip Fulmer (.745 W%) to step down.
Fulmer needed better recruiters on his staff. He was due to lose recruiting battles to the Sabans, Miles, Richts and Spurriers of the world. The coaching in this generation of the SEC has been simply too good for him not to do this. They probably would have been better off if they simply asked him to do that though.

Seriously? That's what you took away from this post?
C'mon man!!!

This OP should be continuously copied and pasted over and over into every thread calling for Miles to be fired. Repeat until they get it. I'm all for forceful indoctrination of the feeble minded.

Slackster, I 'm pretty sure even though Penn State forfeited all those wins, the teams they play still get an "L" for their records.
Its not like the Olympics, where they bring the Cap One trophy to us.
I think that's why the poster was "perturbed" by your caveat about PSU.
