I could point out the source of the problem Dukke in vivid detail but I'd preferred not to get banned right here before the season starts.

9 wins, but we beat Bama - probably satisfied
This would be a good season since we don't have the QB play we would like, But I would rather be 9-3 and lose the bowl game than 8-4 and win the bowl game.......If that makes sense.....

So then is CLM to blame for this 4 game losing streak. Can he out recruit Saban. If he's not improving as a coach why keep him

Miles and crew will restore order soon enough

And look what happened for a long time after Mac was fired. Be very careful what you ask for. Beat all the other guys before you worry about Alasaban.

I'd rather go 9-3 with a win over Bama than 11-1 with a loss to Bama. Tired of losing to that team and enduring their fans every year. Even if we lost to them and went on to win a natty we'd still get it from all directions..."but you couldn't beat us...again." anyone want to go through that for yet another year? Give me a win over Bama and a New Years 6 bowl in 2015 and a natty next year.

You don't want much, do you? Make realism your friend.

You sound like a gaping vagina.

What does this even mean? Is it now considered unrealistic that LSU wins a game against Alabama? We'll just annually bend over and take it because beating them is officially impossible now?

If 11-1 got us to the SECCG and beyond, no for me. Otherwise, I agree.

We need to gave a great year, not a good night.
Winning 10 games a season is good, but not great anymore by LSU standards.
Beating Bama-that's a GREAT night.
I'm baffled by the amount of people who are satisfied with the way things are in this series. I'm not saying we need to win every year, but the attitude that all we have to do is win 10 games and send players to the NFL, with no mention of competing for championships, kind of sickens me. Fans of great teams demand greatness, and I hate how this has somehow become a bad thing.

You said you'd rather go 9-3 and beat Bama than go 11-1 and lose to them. That's retarded because 11-1 is good enough to get to Atlanta most years.

No. No he didn't.

The program improved for the next nine years?

Not beating the other guys is what got Mac fired/not rehired. Miles isn't beating them reliably any more, either, so we'll see if he meets the same fate.
I disagree with you about one thing, though. You suggest that we are so far below Alabama's level that we should just focus on the more realistic goal of beating the other teams and not "worry" about Alabama. While you may be right about where we are, I don't think we should ever be willing to concede to anyone without at least trying to match and exceed their level of success. In fact, it's precisely the willingness of LSU fans to be satisfied playing second fiddle (if we can get back to second) to Alabama that keeps us from being a premier elite program.

It is absolutely astounding how some of our fans accept the fact that Miles has blown the game against Bama with his coaching over his tenure. We have played competitive football(except the BCS game) only to lose the game because of boneheaded decisions-both on offense and defense and in the case of last year-special teams. Look at what Bama did last year on their final drive to confuse the Tigers with tackle eligible and tight-end play. Do you think Miles is capable of this kind of coaching? NO !!- TOO predictable across the Board !!

This season is a success if LSU has 10 or more victories that includes a win over Bama. Anything short of this is a failure, IMO.
How about 10-2 regular season, win over Gumps and first in the West. That would be "Acceptable."
Luck with no major injuries in the OL/DL/LB and Brandon Harris "Jameis" tranformation could make it happen........

I agree with the sentiment, but technically we don't "need" to beat them to win the SEC or NC.
It would sure do wonders for intangibles though and the general perception of the program from the POV of fans, media, etc.

I read somewhere that Bama has 18 former 5* recruits on their roster and LSU has 5. LSU has not had the same talent. It looks like that may be changing, though.
