Sorry guys let's face it. SC baseball stadium is better than the box
While i have issues with the box, carolina stadium is not better. I would say the only advantage theirs has is seat backs all the way down, which i hope lsu eventually does. Other than that their stadium looks like a brown shack. It has no character...its plain and ugly

Maybe as of now, as a total product, but longterm the Box has a much higher ceiling..
If and when LSU fixes the bugaboos, and finishes it's projected phases, it can be a much better stadium..
Add some woodline backdrop to hide the Ponderosa from view, shitcan the green grandstand seats(actually the yellow too..go to all purple), paint the shiny aluminum handrail(even if just a duller silver), go chairback through all stadium and outfield bleachers(longterm), do a berm or tiered Fenway-esque deck for Regionals/student SRO, etc..

...and add more suites all the way down the lines

I commented how trashy the ads made our new park. I was told "that's baseball."

I know it is nearly impossible to build something that everyone will be completely satisfied with, but I think the new box is as good as it gets.
It is just petty to complain about the actual stadium itself. I know people have a right to express their opinion, but in terms of satisfying everyone, it really doesn't get much better than the box.

Its not like im some retarded arky fan who tries to pretend that the box is hideous. I think its great, but still lacks that overall polished look. Having half of the seating be bleachers is pretty much inexcusable to me. This is LSU, the pinacle of college baseball, not a high school stadium. For all i know, there may be plans to eventually replace them with chairbacks. Do that, along with some improvements to the outfield, and i think the Box would be untouchable

I see advertisements as a sign of having a solid program.

I can live with the ads, if also with proper MLB green walls, full chairback seating, proper backdrops, proper-size batter's-eye..
None of those pictures, even if with no butts in seats, has kaleidoscope seating nor shiny aluminum ad-nauseam via rails and bleachers..
We're not being unreasonable..compromise.

You have to think about it from an attendance standpoint. The bleacher seats is what keeps the price of tickets reasonable. Chairbacks cost more than bleachers. If those tickets cost.. Let's say $25 a game, sure you would have a sell out crowd for a few SEC matchups a year, but there would be a lot more non season ticket holders that would not be willing to go to the weeknight games and more than one game during the weekend.
Ideally it would be good to have, but like I said, in terms of satisfying everyone the Box is as good as it gets.

The box is a fine place to watch college baseball as is Carolina Stadium. The fans at Carolina are some of the best in the country and this makes for a great atmosphere at the games. There are few college stadiums that compare to Carolina Stadium when it comes to great seating, sight lines, and fan amenities.
The pictures really don't do it justice.

The grandstand looks like a big barn. I was underwhelmed.

Tanner isn't all about pocketing money like the godfather of LSU baseball was.
yet they have sponsors for foul balls

My first thought was hunting camps. I didn't have my contacts in when I first saw it yesterday and I know JSN didn't have the best production/picture, but I thought it looked cheap.

Was that feed directly associated with SC? I didn't think it was and if so.. That has nothing to do with Tanner.

There are aspects of south carolinas stadium and arkansas' that I wish the box had, but I love the box. The good thing about the box is it is very nice and has no limitations for future improvements.

I think the Carolina and LSU parks are both great venues for college baseball.
And I don't mind the signs on the walls at all. Lots of major league parks have them, and there was a time when virtually every MLB park had the outfield wall covered with the. It's kind of a throwback look and I really like it.
The worst thing about many college baseball stadiums is that 10-ft high, softball-looking backstop they have at a lot of fields (Ole Miss and Georgia have it). It just screams bush league, and I'm really glad we don't have that.

Honestly, I think the thing about the SC and Arkansas stadium that doesn't make it more appealing to me is the colors, but that's just a personal preference from my end. I have never been to any other college baseball stadium other than LSU's, but I guess the colors just make it seem kind of dull.
With that said, I do appreciate schools that have a relatively large amount of fans for its baseball program. It makes it more interesting.
