The mid-majors got a lot of respect by the NCAA selection committee regarding the Dance tonight, maybe that's going to translate into less mid-majors going to the NIT?

The positive about the CBI is that we would almost be guaranteed a home game. I know you have to pay for that tournament, but I imagine LSU would be willing to pay the fee to have more excitement with basketball in the new CJJ era!

Hopefully this is all pointless and we get into the NIT!

I'm sure LSU would be happy to pay to have a game in a tournament that maybe 5% of the fanbase knows about, and that would attract about 3,000 people at best.

Arkansas has already sent out emails to season ticket holders for tickets to the NIT.

We are hosting first round game.

LSU would be the 5th team to get in, tough call.

That doesn't make sense, the higher seed in the NIT hosts. If LSU gets in there is no way it's as a top 4 seed to host.

Wrong, it's a bid process for the NIT... Teams bid for the right to host, LSU has bid for it and sent out the request NIT tickets email as well. All the emails mean is the schools bid on the right to host.

They've leaked anyways.

LSU is at Air Force.

Arkansas is a 3 seed and hosting FSU.

Every single higher seed hosted in the 2012 NIT just FYI.

With the exception of Dayton because they had the opening round of the NCAAT.

I don't thing those 3 are a factor for whether LSU is in or not. It's. the teams in the 80-90 range in RPI LSU is competing with, IMO. It is not like there is a quota per conference.

Word on the street is we declined all involvement with the CBI. Frustrating to act like our program is too good to play postseason basketball where the SEC has no respect anyway. I would love to see us play a few more games regardless.

Probably has more to do with already hosting the women's tourney.
