Hold up. The player signs a 1 year contract. The school and the student are bound for 1 year. The school can choose not to renew it and the athlete can choose to not renew it. everyone is aware of the deal.

The NCAA was sued for antitrust violations and entered into a consent decree with the Department of Justice which allows the kids to transfer. the NCAA can’t just roll back the rules.

it’s literally a 1 year contract.

If there ends up being a minor league football league in the future which takes the best players and college goes back to its old model but with the players left over I strongly believe college football would still be more popular.

I agree

It’s almost pointless to jump into these types of threads. I think the vast majority of TD thinks that these issues are caused by new rules. And the NCAA should just go back to how it was.

Imagine the programs that have improved since the portal/NIL. A few bluebloods like LSU have been humanized by the new structure. But the Colorados of the nation, SMUs, even Vanderbilts, have benefited greatly.

Coaching, lack of a run game, and terrible defense was LSUs problem. Not the portal OR NIL.

NIL has its issues and players are going to the highest bidder. While I don’t care for it, it is manageable for college football.

I disagree, NIL is the reason the transfer portal is so full.

No, it MUST have some reform to it, some stability. Until then, nothing changes.

NIL triggers transfers. Bring in a high priced NIL QB any your existing QB’s bolt to the transfer portal. Look.at Michigan.

Kinda, the problem is that the transfer portal and NIL really can’t co-exist. You have kids getting cash up from the go to one school. Then in the offseason get offered more by another school so they enter the portal. This isn’t sustainable, eventually donors and businesses will realize there’s very little ROI, at least I hope they would

I love how we've figured this out slowly and it's been mentioned several times and now everyone is shouting from the roof tops. We get it. It's not your revelation. It's being talked about. This is just repetitive.
