I'll give you one that is fact. Eddie Lee Hurts "signed" w/the agreement that he would get all the money out of the soda machines , candy machines ,snacks ,chips etc. This was for his attending a certain magnet high school. Too bad he was prior the Charger give away.

Who the frick is Eddie Lee Hurts, and what does he have to do with Derrius Guice's alleged "arrangement" at Catholic High?

but none of that has anything to do with you disparaging Guice and Catholic High.

must be an alum I'm not disparaging CHS, Guice? that's another story, but I'm pretty sure I saw this in one of those feel good, tug at your heart string documentary type stories, ESPN Game Day, iirc, as I said, it's been a long time, if I'm wrong....never mind

ETA: just googled it, it's there, check it out

The thread title is literally "NIL"

You first made a claim that a former LSU football player had such a deal with his HS. Then you claimed some random kids in Florida had such a deal with their HS. None of these alleged deals--even as unsubstantiated as they are--have anything to do with NIL.

and that's a new thing, point I made was that illegal payments have been taking place for quite some time

Link it then. Does it say he received special financial benefits above and beyond scholarship money and academic support? For his name, image, and likeness? Due to some "arrangement" with the school?

I read the article years ago when it came out. It says nothing about any special "arrangement" with Catholic. That is some shite you made up.

Exactly. Guice didn't get some "special arrangement" from Catholic. He got a scholarship like many athletes get and around his junior year he moved in with the guidance counselor's family due to issues at home.

Many private schools, including Catholic, give scholarships to low income students with exceptional athletic (or other) abilities. That is nothing like NIL payments.

How dare you? Matt Mascona swears that Catholic doesn't recruit and is completely innocent of any wrong doing.

I do find it hilarious that he talks all this shite about being against the split. Then will brag on Catholic winning state titles. All the while ignoring that Catholic never won a title until the split.

If this isn't the definition of a special arrangement then you tell us what is?

We're in a new era of collegiate and high school sports. If this gets more quality players into Louisiana high schools, and in turn into LSU, you gotta do it.

That’s some Texas shite.
Texas doesn't allow high schoolers or kids under 18 to make NIL deals. That's why Quinn Ewers went to tOSU for a year.

And did not get paid. He had to start or play in 4 games.

But he couldn't even make that conditional contract had he stayed in Texas.

And he did get paid, just not as much as he could have if he'd met those bonuses.
