I read some reference to what Saban said Miles said to him after the game...my video player keeps stalling when I try to run the interview. Would someone please paraphrase for me what Les supposedly said to lil' Nicky at midfield??

You can ruin my life like that as well. Just pay me 4 million a year and somehow I will find a way to pick up the pieces and move on.

Does anybody know if the players he met with were only the ones that he recruited/coached? It seems like most of his comments were directed towards these players and not so much the team or LSU as a whole.
Could be that he is just trying to minimize the chance that they'll say anything negative about him in upcomming recruiting years. Heck, he may even be hoping that he can get a positive word or two out of them, especially if Miles moves on. He certainly seems to understand the usefullness of former players in recruiting.

In more ways (and times) than one, Saban basically said that he would rather be @ LSU. One of the first things he said after arriving at Alabama is that "He should have never left LSU". The Alabama community has picked up on his feelings and comments loud and clear. As long as Saban wins/won, they would have tolerated it. Begrudgingly. Saban, and Alabama's football program, is now in trouble - for Bama will likely loose 2, maybe more, games this year.
In life, there are sometimes certain losses, jobs, deaths, etc. (ie Bear Bryant) that one never recovers from. It's sad, but is human and true.

Geez, don't you know that Saban compliments all of his opponents.

USA Today has a website that posts (in PDF Form), the contract of all public institution coaches. THERE IS NO BUYOUT IN THE SABAN CONTRACT.

In the presser in this thread, he simply said that Miles told him "good job"....nothing more, nothing less.

You are probably right but it won't happen. Bama needs to quit all that Saban nonsense. I listened to a Bama station and it was pathetic with the "Saban, we almost won, it was his recruits, and etc". It's rediculous.

You corndogs are so funny. Last week Saban was Satan and now that you've been reminded of how much better a coach he is than Miles you want him back?
Saban will never coach at LSU again.
You guys need to deal with the fact that Bama/Saban will be THE team to beat starting in 2008 while LSU slowly returns to the mediocrity it knew preSaban.

Does anyone know what the stipulations are on the "guaranteed money" aspect of the contract? Could he just decide to leave for whatever reason he wants and still get the rest of his $40 mil? Could he use the textbook scandal as a reason to leave?
I'm still stuck on my fantasy of him returning to LSU as DC for a ~100k/yr salary to replace Pelini.

We do not want Saban back.. he is all business and is THE BEST at shittalking and telling people what they want to hear. He is a great speaker and very manipulative. We do not want him.
Miles seems to be much more genuine and he is doing great.
There is no way Saban can coach LSU again. No Way.

quote:I second that one. No matter how much everyone hates on him, he's a winnibg coach and no one can deny that. I've grown to like Miles' "go for broke" style but if/when Miles leaves I would love to have Saban back even though that would probably never happen. I was pissed when he left but hey, it's nothing personal it's business. I do think think it was alot harder for him to play against his boys then he thought.

Nick Saban's Post Game Interview
I have said all along that if Miles goes to Michigan, Saban will be the next coach at LSU. And, even the haters on here would love to hae him back I think.
