He ran an extremely clean program here at LSU & Alabama.

I don't care if he's mean or egotistical. I could care less if he hits old people as he did the Tiger Walk. I don't care. He wins ballgames and gets the best players in the country year in year out. You need to get over the feel good stories.

Mark Richt & Les Miles are 10X the people that Urban Meyer & Nick Saban are.

And yet, Urban Meyer is better than Richt and Nick Saban is better than Miles! Sorry for the truth.

Didn't say it was. He is still the best coach LSU has ever had.

Apparently we have differing standards... and that's fine. I wasn't really debating your post, it just gave a platform to make the point.

I don't like losing anymore than you but I'd rather lose a few games than be held hostage by an ego-maniac like Saban.

Vince Young was sure pissed when Saban told him that his best chance of playing in the NFL was to play WR.

I have nothing negative to say about him.

My only complaints about Little Debbie are that he made Huizenga kiss his arse and offer him more money multiple times. He waited too long to finally decide he wanted to coach the Dolphins and then announced his decision to leave LSU on Christmas Day. Then after deciding he didn't like it in Miami or coaching in the NFL, he whores himself out to our desperate conference and divisional rivals to the Northeast. Out of respect for LSU, he could have and should have waited for another sure to come offer from a non-SEC school.

He was responsible for turning around our program at the turn of the millineum. He's a very good coach who can get the best out of his players. He is a no bullshite kinda guy that consistently wins. I'm saying I wish he was back but you can't hate the guy. The only wish that I have for him is that he would coach outside the SEC.

I agree with all of this. Comparing Miles and Saban are tanamount to comparing Albert Einstein and Lloyd Christmas or Bill Arnsparger and Curley Hallman......

The following jobs that were open in 2006 besides Bama:

Louisville
Stanford
Miami
North Carolina
Michigan St.
Arizona St.

NO EXCUSES WHATSOEVER FOR SABAN IN THAT REGARD.

The fact that this thread exists...3 days before the bama game mind you....is an embarrassment and should be a bannable offense.

are you fricking kidding me?

saban obviously wanted to go back to college ball, but out of respect he should have not taken the best job available?

are you people seriously saying that? put his family and his career's best interest aside so he doesnt offend LSU fans...give me a fricking break. i dont like the guy, but this argument is absolutely retarded in every way.

1st off. How old were you in 2000? NOW lets get to the MEAT of this. Saban brought alot os great things to LSU besides a NC in 2003. Emmert helped a great deal with the other stuff. But If ONE LSU fan says that he didn't put LSU back on the map natinally is a TOTAL FRICKIN FOOL. Now to the way football was played while he was here. Its easy to say he lost to UAB in 2000. But then he was part of two of the best games in TS history with TENN and MSU OT wins that brought A TON of excitment to LSU. 2001 WAS a banner year for LSU compared to the 6 years before it. SEC title game win and a beatdown in the Sugar Bowl. IMO the SECOND best team in the country at years end. 2002 Was a different story. Started out nice but Mauck gets hurt and they DID struggle. But It set up perfect for 20032. What a GREAT coaching job by Saban. The D was amoungst the BEST EVER IN college football. The next year was a so-called rebuilding year with ALL the losses from 2003. Not what Saban wanted , but hey he had his sights set on his dream job. DID NPOT go about it the right way. Shame on him. However what he left here at LSU is not doing as good as when he WAS here.

Have a great day!!!!!
