It's Brennan's to lose and I think he'll be really good

He has every skill set and is going to be very smart/aware.

Personally, I just think he needs to work on his touch... i.e., under pressure, he can't throw the ball 110mph to a guy 8 yards away.

looks like Brennan has a cannon arm and he is also a better runner than people give him credit for. Looks to me to be pretty fast and can run somewhat and isn't fragile, but can't believe he would be able run as strongly as Burrow. Plus Burrow has that innate sense of where the rush is coming from and when and where to move, sort of like Brees. Burrow also can remain composed under pressure at an elite level, almost a Brees like level. If Brennan can come anywhere close then we will be in good hands

And the deciding factor for how well he will do will be if he is smart enough to run the offense the way Joe has.

He should be graduating in the spring so will be similar to Burrow in that he won't have much of a course load and can spend most of his time at the Ops building

Until Brennan can control his nerves, there should be an open competition. A strong arm can only take you so far.

And there is no way that he is more athletic than Joe.

What Joe has that Brennan does not...
is years of studying/dissecting defenses w his father.

I'm interested to see what Johnson does at LSU. He has the pedigree being the son of an NFL QB. Burrow has an unreal football IQ which can be contributed to being a coaches son and growing up in football. Johnson grew up with an NFL QB teaching him what to look for. Would be interested to see if that translates on the field at this level.

Maybe they will have a package or two for Finley.

a package for what? Designed runs? Finley is not a runner... now Parrish might have some packages because he has wheels but not Finely.

Thinking someone has some inside info or has seen more of Brennan than most others

Matt Flynn, who played for nearly a decade in the NFL and shared locker rooms with Aaron Rogers, Philip Rivers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees always raves about Brennan.

Myles Brennan will be fine.

He’ll be better than Etling, Harris, Jennings, Jefferson, etc.... but he won’t be Joe Burrow.

He’ll complete 65% of his passes next year for 3,200 yards and 30 TD’s.

But he’ll get crushed by the catastrophe syndrome portion of our fan base because now all of the sudden we are QB and Heisman U.

Next year’s team, because of what we will lose after the NC, will go 10-3 or maybe 9-4 and that same catastrophe group will forget this past season, coming down with Amnesia and they’ll want to fire Coach O, Aranda and Brady.
