Why would Lane not come?

For one the HC position is not open. BK is not getting fired. Florida will have an opening before LSU. He will go there.

He is not good against Top 25 teams and especially on the road. 12-25 record vs Top 25 teams.

People keep saying this. Give me a reason why he wouldn't.

Because he's not going to pass on the Florida job.

People keep saying money will be a problem…. It very well might be

If you want money to NOT be an issue there’s only one name that makes sense and it will open every checkbook within a 200 mile radius of I-10

Dan Mullen would be my choice. What he did at Miss State building that O&D line was remarkable. Florida didn’t give Mullen long enough to put the pieces in place.

Let’s not forget Cam Newton “loved” Dan Mullen but couldn’t pass up the offer from Auburn.

Mullen would win a natty here.

If hypothetically both jobs were open, you're telling me Florida is the better job? Guve me a fricking break, it's fine if you don't like the guy, but don't say UF is a better gig.

kiffin will probably be the hottest coach on everyone's wish list for a few years with what he's done at ole miss, and his middle age.

i can see him wanting to be at bama, but bama is not looking like they'll need a new coach. dont see him going to penn st. i think he likes the SEC. i could see clemson going after him, but i think he likes the SEC.

he's just as likely to stay put in oxford for a stretch, but if he were to move this year it would be LSU or Florida (neither of which have openings now).

If Saban wanted to continue coaching, why did he retire from Bama?

He is not coming back to coaching. He does not like the NIL/transfer portal. LSU fans would expect a NC the first season and then he would say " we are spoiled" bc it will not happen.

How long you think he would coach for? 3 years? 4 tops?

It's either go after a top coach or get a top name assistant and hopefully he can do what Kirby is doing at UGA. Will take years to get to what UGA is doing. Saban is not going to coach.

I was halfway joking with that post.

I don’t think it will happen nor will it be considered, but I do think people would open their wallets if that were to ever happen

Yeah with Ole Miss. If he was our head coach we absolutely beat vanderbilt today. Even with the same shitty defensive performance it wouldnt have mattered because we would've scored 40+.

I mean shite we put up 24 with Sloans garbage "scheme".

So spending $50M to buyout the old coach just to hire an unproven coach is your answer

Nah the boosters and alumni don’t want someone else’s throw away.
The next guy has to be young ish innovative in offensive or defensive scheme. Something to give the program a spark and edge

Nick Saban. Kelly has set up the front office like the NFL. Full of old Saban administrators.

Saban can coach and recruit. Leave the contacts to the front office.

He and Woodward are very close. Woodward needs to be bailed out.
