What do we think it would take to get up to a 3 seed? Is that even possible? I would prefer not to be a 4 or 5 seed if possible.

We can still be a one seed if we win out, anything is possible right now with our record.

Lots of convincing wins. The SEC has Auburn and Kentucky as good opponents so there's not much to work with unlike last year. I would guess winning the regular season title would put us close to a 3 if we don't completely choke in the tournament.

I’m hoping we land in that South bracket. Wanna play in Houston for the sweet 16/elite 8.

That's what I'm hoping as well and at least a couple of wins in the SECT.

January 3rd they weren’t even projected to make the field.
January 10th they were 11
January 17th (just two weeks ago) they were 8

They just need to keep improving. I know it’s silly to say but I really like this team better than last years. They have come along way through the month of January.

In short, do what they did last year.

IIRC, LSU was #14 in the NET on selection Sunday. Currently they are 19 (obviously with a lot left to play). The downside is that there doesn't seem to be as many "great wins" out there to get in the SEC as there were last season. But, there doesn't seem to be as much separation between the top teams and those just a step below as there was last season.

It would be great to finish 16-2 in SEC play again. It would be even better to go 9-0 on the ROAD in SEC play which would give them an ridiculous 10-1 overall record in road games. But, being reasonable, I think they MUST win at least 3 of these games (if not more) to even potentially have a shot.

@ Auburn
@ Bama
UK
@ Florida
@ Arkansas

That's why, just like last season, those games blown vs. USC and Utah St. hurt. Particularly more this year with a weaker SEC. Wins in both would easily have this team in the NET top 15. Maybe top 10.

Has anybody ever won a football championship and made the final four in the same year?

And they beat Ohio St. to do it in both football and basketball (if you are going by "school year" instead of calendar year - 2006 football season; 06-07 basketball season)

Benoit- no disrespect, but you clearly haven't watched Minnesota play. They are really pretty good and i think would handle NC St And what a bad matchup for us, they have 2 bigs who are really athletic and could match our size and athleticism!

Butler unless they get Aaron Thompson back soon will NEVER remain as a #4 seed He is their best defensive player and leading assist guy!

And just a ? I don't care how many QUAD 1 wins they have, how does ANYONE with a BRAIN, put Ohio State in this field They are terrible Flat out BAD as basketball and Yet here they are an #8 seed They also lost DJ Carton this week!!!

I know it doesn't matter at ALL, but laziness just irritates me on shite like this!
