I have been to a couple games in the old Box and been to a lot of games at the new one, but to me the atmosphere just isn't the same. The old box you could walk in the gates and feel the history of it, the New one feels more like a going to a business meeting instead of a baseball game. I sometimes sit in the grandstands and it just don't feel like a baseball game it feels like corporate America lol. I know there will be some that will down vote and some smartass going to say some smartass crap but I don't care. I rather sit with the working people in the cheap seats, feels like more of a baseball game.

Well go sit in the outfield.

The Box was absolutely rocking last night, the players just didn't come through when they needed to.

Subject is old and tired . Like many I went 100's of games at old box. Different era meant different experience . New Box is great and has nothing to do with results good or bad

There was something about walking into the Old Box and smelling the burgers on the grill and looking up at the used up dry-erase board for the starting lineups.

We did have fun didn't we?! Some of my favorite memories were made in that old stadium.

The six team regional era was a time I'll never forget. I had a wonderful time.

It is my opinion that the old Box was louder because of the configuration of the stadium. The stands were steeper and it was more compact.

Old box was more intimate. It had the classic ballpark feel. I love the new box, but I'll never forget what the old box was like.

The old box was a great baseball park. It's 2016 and the world is steadily evolving. Schools have to keep up with other schools it's that simple. Mississippi State Now has the Taj Mahal of college baseball and have never won a natty, and yet the kids that are being recruited their probably don't care about their history only that they have an exceptional park to play in. LSU tried to keep the old nostalgia of the old box with modern features and amenities in the new box. It's all about personal preference.

I'm a veteran of both "Box" stadiums and if that last night was what you call "rocking" it at the new Box then it compares very poorly to the old Box.

Anyone who says different is sadly mistaken.

We all know it had to come to an end for many reasons but I particularly liked the old-time feel - the grittiness - of the old Box.

But I'm sure that I'm in a very small minority who feel that way.

With the exception of a few situations here and there, I have never heard a packed Box as quiet as it was this weekend. It is hard for the crowd to get whipped up into a frenzy when we were getting our butts beat most of the time.

Especially last night. You could've heard a pin drop several times.

I think it was easy to see the handwriting on the wall. CC was going to do whatever it took to win that thing. LSU was on it's heels for most of the weekend.

As I was walking out last night I was thinking that I never want LSU to be a national seed again. It's just not the same anymore. There's too much parity and it makes you a bigger target - a challenge that a "lesser" team can use to motivate themselves to achieve - much like LSU beating Florida 3 of 5 at the end of the season.

When that last run scored right in front of me and I caught those frickers out of the corner of my eye pouring out of their dugout and dogpiling on our field and hearing that screaming bitch and their fricking fans I had to avert my eyes and quickly stride on out of there. frick that.

Come on Football.

.... hey G-purp,

kinda feel like that is a product of LSU BASEBALL'S FOUNDERS success,.....cutting a WIDE path through the jungle , for all to jump in behind and feast on the fruits.......ncaa now see's the $ & shifts number of players / team down.... less spots per team = more great players searching for a spot...

.... rising tide lifts all boats
