He got hurt and ended up drafted in the third round anyway. So no loss no gain in that respect. At the same time he was a first round lock until he got hurt. shite happens.

KB could’ve gone in the 3rd round after his jr year but came back for a loaded 2016 roster.

Annnnd he still went in the 3rd round after his injury...

The main difference here is that we actually have a QB this time that's worth a damn and a coach that has the program headed in the right direction.

Tre White came back and didn't get injured. I wonder how that would influence his decision. It's different to each individual and he should do what's right for him and his family.

You can't compare the two though like you are trying to. Two completely different situations KB had plenty of room to improve his draft stock. Like you said he was given a third round draft grade. At that point the risk of getting hurt is worth the reward of becoming a first-round draft pick. Substantial signing bonus/contract difference. Devin already is a first-round draft pick, so the risk is greater than the reward.

doubtful. he wasn't a lock as a 1st round pick regardless. The difference in a second round and third round pick isn't all that much in guaranteed money. Middle of the 2nd round in 2016 had a signing bonus of around $1.5MM. Beckwith's bonus for signing in the 3rd was about $750k. He prob lost, at most, a million dollars in guaranteed money.
