Agreed. Wayde Simms situation too wasn't just a random thing. Kids putting themselves in bad situations happens. All you can do as a parent/coach is instill the message and hope it's received.

This stuff will be used in recruiting against us, yes. Recruiting is dirty and everything is fair game for some. It's raally not difficult to counter those tactics.

Happens everywhere not just LSU guy. Eventually these young men need to start using their heads. Which from what I read, sounds like CEH did use his head and didn’t go meet a stranger unarmed. We all do it when meeting up to buy something from a stranger

Ok. What I said still stands. Bama fans sent letters to the kicker threatening his life. Hasn’t slowed their recruiting down and this won’t slow ours down either.

Not really... Istrouma isn't exactly "north"... Its the hear t of the city.

I've lived here 43 years and have never been to Istrouma so you may call it the "heart" of the city I can assure you it isn't.

She specifically mentions the Uber driver incident.

Our coaches can counter that type of stuff pretty easily. Reality is one or two may cite that as a concern but it didn't seem to be s big issue in recruiting this class. And that's when it was fresh.

Dean was always considered UGA or Bamas to lose anyway so I'm not sure he's the best example to say that this a significant barrier in recruiting. It's an excuse for a kid who's mom was always more connected to Georgia bc of a particular assistant coach. It happens. We won't land every top out of state prospect but we did pretty good,

Again, yea Baton Rouge has problems but so do other places and I hope our coaches are gathering intel to plant in the heads of recruits and their parents too. Negative recruiting is out there. No need to take the high road on it. Use it to help the kids make an informed decision bc it's all about the kids after all.

Think of how many schools would be written off if that is the case.

If you are an LSU football player, and ESPECIALLY highly ranked, you should NEVER put yourself in a position where you thought you needed to bring a gun.

Change the dynamic...meet at a police station...get a 3rd party to do the transaction.

I don't give a frick how innocent you are. Control in life what you can. Even if CEH is exonerated...he did kill another human being. That's something he'll have to live with for the rest of his life. I don't care if he's 100% justified, he'll have to live with it. Again, if he'd have changed the dynamic, because he IS an LSU football player who should not put himself in bad positions, he wouldn't have to deal with that for the rest of his life.

Killing a man, even in self defense, will not work in his favor when he's up for the NFL.

In life, you can be 100% right, and still have to suffer the consequences of society's and and employer's judgement.

No, there are many great schools that happen to be in areas of town that are considered underserved and dangerous... the best example of this is USC.

Tuscaloosa Al had 20 murders in 2017, the highest in a decade.

Baton Rouge had 109 in 2017, a decrease in the murder rate.
