Negatigers are like the old 49ers fans

I remember when the Saints use to play the "greatest team of all time" 49ers and lose 13-12, and most Saints fans would consider it a moral victory, while the bandwagon 9ers fans (that seemed to be everywhere, even Bunkie)would actually be embarrassed that they didn't blow us out. And it brought home to me what it means to truly be a fan.
You've got your folks who are in such need of an identity that they latch on to a team/movement that they think will be utterly dominating, that when the domination fails to materialize they're even more frustrated than they were before. And these seem to be the quickest to turn when things aren't going so well.
And you have others who have been through the ggod times and bad, and realize things are cyclical whether you like it or not, and it's easier to just ride it out and love who you love regardless.
I don't blame people who get frustrated that we are in some way playing down to our competition. It just seems like the shite has gotten completely out of hand regarding expectations and what the "vocal" majority of Tiger fans are pleased with.
Almost makes me long for the Archer days... NOT!

HMMMMM........all I can say is that I would rather be a LSU TIGER fan than a USC, UGA, OKIE ST, BYU, ND, etc, etc, etc, etc FAN!

For some reason, we have idiots that want to scrap everything and start over with whomever.
Supporting your team while it improves is not somthing they are willing to do.
The LSU coach haters are not so much interested in LSU sports, but rather their own deflated egos, probably from lack of success in their own lives.

quote:I've been through plenty of ups and downs as an LSU fan. But to limit the reasons to "cyclical" is to suggest our team and coach are but passive chips on a random ocean, with no control over their destination. Nick Saban has proven that to be wrong at LSU. He is proving that to be wrong at Alabama. I don't want Nick Saban back. That would be terrible for LSU. But I do admire his strong vision for what a team can be, and his ability to move that team in the same direction until the vision becomes reality. Not many active coaches have that ability, so I am not knocking Les Miles. In fact, I like a lot about Les Miles as LSU's coach. But I think he could do some work on defining and communicating his vision for LSU so that the team and the Tiger Nation can better understand and navigate the rocky terrain we're in right now.

BTW, for a big LSU fan BMG, I'm surprised to see that PITT is your team.
