They really aren’t. I get soooo sick of living here and hearing how AWFUL LSU fans are yet I got harassed for a solid hour at the last game in Fay by some trailer trash redneck 60 year old woman. Security ended up taking her out. We were down near the field; I was with a huge group of Arkansas fans and had my yellow pea coat on. I ignored her but I wanted to hit that demon with some series football facts that would surely shut her ignorant mouth up.
When I moved up here, I had no clue these people look at us at enemy numero uno. I was like wait… y’all are like 7th or 8th on our list. This simply isn’t a real rivalry (to us) but to them it is. All I’ve heard this year is how they’ve beat us in every sport in the last year. I just laugh and tell them to enjoy it why it lasts.
Anyway, Fayetteville is otherwise awesome. I encourage anyone to make the trip because it’s beautiful in the fall and besides their crappy tailgating scene and trashy fans (which exist everywhere—I’ve been to every SEC stadium) without a basis, it’s pretty fun. Like every SEC fanbase, you have the complete trash as well as a nice mix of people who you’ll enjoy hanging with. Dickson street is cute and the campus and drive up is beautiful between Fort Smith/Fay.

I went there for the Josh booty (14-3 score I think) and in the freezing rain.
Only good memory of that day was some rednecks I was sitting with took $10 and said they were leaving the stadium to get beer across the street. Didn’t believe them but gave the $10.
Dude came back in camo onesie loaded down with beers. Wild day in the rain.
