That's the only rule that will start in 2011. The other two start this upcoming season.
15 yards on a kickoff is the perfect penalty for taunting. I seriously don't see the logic in this rule. I'm gonna loathe the day this dumb rule ruins a game for someone

Negative, the penalty only applies if you taunt ON THE WAY in for a TD. After the TD, old rules apply.

I just saw that I should have changed my post but still the guy the had on college football live saying stretching the ball over like golden tate did being a penalty is so dumb. If they do this it should be totally obvious the guy is making fun of the other team.

Yeah, but I read it as saying if you point the football AT the player chasing you.
No telling what all is included but it is absurd to leave all of these judgements in the hands of officials. SOmething wrong will happen when this is rule and then they"ll just apologize even though it will cost some team a huge loss on an error.

IMHO....
I don't like it...flag them the 15 for being unsportsman....but the touchdown would have still been scored either way...the 15 is between them and the coaching staff...on the coaching staff if they can't contrl their players...shouldn't be the responsibility of the N.C. Double Assholes.

How many more years before we pass the "one extra second half TO for LSU rule"? Miles retarded ability to use timeouts has to be addressed sooner or later. It costed us 2 games last year.

I am calling it now. Next time that LSU plays at Alabama or Auburn, LSU will have a touchdown called back because the LSU player taunted the opposition by showing off his name on the back of his jersey as he ran away from the defender.
The rule will be just gray enough to allow the refs to call it as they see fit.

Did they ban the wearing of eye black by fans? I sure hope not! There have been numerous occasions where the glare off my flask has been unbearable in the stands. I don't know what I'd do if I weren't allowed to wear my eye black to the game I'M NOT EVEN PLAYING IN

It will be 15 yards from the spot of the foul so if you are in the playing field, then yes, it will cost you if you scored.
If taunting is done in the endzone, then the penalty is assessed on the kickoff, like it is now.
So 95 percent of the time, the rule will be like it is now.
But yes, this just plays into the hands of the stupid-arse officiating we've seen in the SEC the last 2-3 years.

Wrong...the only rule change for this year is the "wedge rule". The others take effect in 2011.
