I love how this sets up for us. We have ZERO chance of being put in the NIT, yet have a chance for an automatic NCAAT berth.

the ncaa 1st round is the 4 play-in games. 2 games are for the weakest automatic qualifiers and 2 games are for the last 4 at large teams. So, after lsu wins the sec tournament they will be in the 1st round of the ncaa tournament playing for the right to face a #1 seed as one of the weakest automatic qualifiers. Do you understand WTF i'm talking about now?

Best chance to get to the play-in game: Stay home this weekend and take the money we would otherwise spend sending the team, cheerleaders, pep band, and assorted so-called dignitaries to the SEC tournament and use it instead to bribe someone at NCAA headquarters. All other scenarios are far less likely to succeed.

No, and I don't understand why you even brought this thread up.

After we win 4 straight this weekend, our best chance is if we play in the opening round game going for the last #16 seed. The #1 seeds are pretty weak this year so the bracket should set up favorably.

1) You would not be a 16 if you won the SEC Tourney. Probably a 14, maybe a 15, but almost certainly not a 16, let alone one that is in the play-in game.

2) I don't really understand why you'd want to be a 16. Maybe the 1's are weaker this year, but then wouldn't you want to be a 14 to play weaker 3's?

ETA: I'm sure this is sarcasm, but still.

if there's not much difference between a #1 and a #3, there's no reason to want to play a #3 because the 2nd round matchup would be alot harder. Logic like yours is why nobody respects Ohio State fans and your teams get made fun of in every sport they play.

i actually had no idea they changed the format for this year's tournament. The First Four is news to me.

at LSU basketball for making me so apathetic about college basketball that I no longer even know the rules.

LSU is one 10 game winning streak away from a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

That's one hell of a response right there. I'll stand by my original post about buckeye fans and seeds this year.

It didn't need to be. Anyone that thinks 1's and 3's are equal (like you) has mental issues. It doesn't take much explanation.
