The NCAA is not consistent on granting immediate eligibility to transfers. They have denied a waiver to a lineman who transferred from Florida to Syracuse through the transfer portal. Yet last season Justin Fields was immediately eligible at Ohio State after leaving Georgia. This kind of inconsistency will undoubtedly lead to litigation at some point.

It also makes it difficult on schools accepting a transfer whom they anticipate will be eligible who gets denied while a similar transfer to an opponent is granted eligibility. Hopefully the member schools will draft legislation to create consistency in application of the process.

The NCAA responds to litigation pressure.

And it also takes way too long
JT Daniels was approved immediately
Joey Gatewood at Kentucky is still waiting to hear even though he transferred before Daniels

I don't know if it's schools not cooperating or the player himself not cooperating or that the NCAA is just that incompetent.

They seem to almost always give it to QBs leaving their conference. But not in conference.

They also tend to prioritize highly touted guys.

Their system is a complete farce. It almost seems as though money is exchanged in these things with how arbitrary they are. I'm a huge proponent of a 1 time transfer exemption. It only makes sense. Another reason those clamoring for the big ten gluttony was completely off base. There would've been outrage when some were granted waivers and others not.

When will the Power 5 wake up and tell the United Nations that is the NCAA to frick off. The power 5 can end the NCAA tomorrow if they’d just grow a pair! I mean seriously, every time the NCAA is talked about all I can think about is Hans Blix on Team America when he’s talking to that little midget China dude!

Daniels missed all of last season due to injury basically, pretty obvious why he should have got one.
