The nation’s average price of gasoline has fallen 12.5 cents over the last week and stands at $4.30 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is up 19.3 cents from a month ago and is $1.22 per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel fell 14.2 cents in the last week and stands at $6.307 per gallon.
“Average gasoline prices fell in 48 states over the last week, with diesel declining in 48 states as well, as a broad-based retreat brought relief to motorists across much of the country,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “The largest declines were seen in Georgia and Ohio, where recently enacted fuel tax cuts amplified the drop, while price-cycling Florida and much of the Midwest also joined the broader downward trend. For now, declines may continue in a majority of states, though some price-cycling markets are at risk of an upward swing in gas prices in the days ahead. While oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz are rising, refineries behind the Strait are not yet fully able to move products through, keeping gasoline and diesel prices elevated relative to what crude oil levels alone might suggest.”

Middle East crude exports rose above pre-war levels on four of the final seven days of September despite continued attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, while the G7 announced plans to release emergency reserves.

In early Monday trade, WTI was down 91 cents to $90.20 per barrel, below last Monday’s $94.85, while Brent edged up 22 cents to $102.47 compared to $106.87 a week ago, with the divergence reflecting rising U.S. crude exports even as global supply anxiety keeps Brent elevated. “Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East supported Brent crude oil prices over the past week, contrasting with the U.S. benchmark WTI, which traded lower. This divergence was likely driven by the Trump administration’s announcement to re-release 40 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Consequently, the wide spread between the two benchmarks is expected to support robust U.S. crude exports in the coming weeks,” added Giovanni Staunovo, UBS commodities analyst, via e-mail.

And their wrap-up piece for month of September last Thursday:
quote:
WASHINGTON, DC (October 1, 2026) – The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline dropped nearly 7 cents from last week to $4.41. This follows a record-setting September at the pump. The monthly average was $4.33, 50 cents higher than the previous September record of $3.83 set in 2023. Crude oil prices have dipped back into the $90 per barrel range, lowering the national average, but overall gas prices remain the highest they’ve ever been for this time of year.

Gas prices are still too high.
We need to blame more jews and vote for DSA candidates. It's the only way for gas prices to come down.
