Naptime - hearing anything on pitching transfers?

We got the hitting. We are going to score a ton of runs. We need to get a some good starting pitching on campus! I realize our young guys will probably develop into good options but it wouldn’t hurt to get a legit proven starter to transfer in.

Looks like we just picked one up according to Project. There are a couple more they were talking to. I don’t have the names though.

I’ve already reported it in two threads

Hoping for pitchers Washburn, Heid, and Olsen!

LesnarF5 who is Olsen? Thanks

Olsen is a JUCO signee with Arizona State. He was committed to Arizona at one time as well. That he has ties to two of our new coaches makes him a potential target for us, but there are hurdles there. He would have to a) want to come here (he's from Arizona and pitches there currently in JUCO) and b) be able to get out of an LOI at ASU (unless there are scholarship number issues, they aren't going to let him go when all their new coaches come from the pros and don't have a back log of potential new players).

I don’t post much but enjoy reading everyone’s insight. Just a fact I want to put in the mix that many of you may already know...juco baseball players are NOT commonly (if at all) tested for enhancing or performance drugs. I’m not eluding that any of our previous, current, or future juco players have used this route just found it interesting. Also paraphrased the below quote from wiki-take it for what it’s worth. The NYU article was deleted in 2017.
“The NJCAA does not drug test their student athletes so it is up to that college whether or not the players are drug tested at all. Two former LSU baseball players admitted that it was much easier to cheat the drug test at their junior colleges and that they had suspicions about certain teams that they played. Head baseball coach for LSU, Paul Mainieri, said that after recruiting certain players from Junior Colleges that were not the same after showing up on campus, ‘In retrospect looking back, I’m a little smarter and would recognize that the players I recruited were doing something artificially help them in junior college’. Concern they won't be the same player after they arrive.”
