He simply made a mistake that cost us a couple of games this year.

He made 2 decisions that, in combination, probably cost us 2 games. Maybe 3. He put the guys in charge of the defense who weren't ready to do the job they were presented with. And he kicked RP off the team. Hindsight is 20/20, but only 1 of those decisions, at most, was a "mistake."

Scoop,
Did you move to Bama? I didn't think anything that intelligent could've come from someone born and raised there

Great post.

No...... but really, I played both ways in high school.

Bama, truer words have never been spoken.

If you take the words blitz, backup QB, and Fire. Most could not be on the board. And if you really want to hear something funny, try to get the vast majority of posters explain cover two, zone blitz, or Tampa 2. Yours truly included.

Well, you are continuing to prove you want LSU to struggle since you don't like Miles. If we turn it around next year, you'll tuck tail and won't be seen from again.

nevermind coaching. that just further proves the saban is winning with shulas talent right?

No, because Shula's players weren't any good. That's always the worst comparison people come up with. It's a freakin compliment.

It a darn shame it took some Bama fan to put things in perspective... Bama fan & perspective that doesn’t compute... That’s what the post is so amazing.

Scoop come to the right side, we need you

So did:

Gerry Dinardo

Curley Hallman

MIke Debose

Mike Shula and

Mike Archer

and it didn't take an advanced degree in the Tampa 2 for anyone to see that none of those guys could coach at all.

And given the chance to hire an OC for LSU back in 1998 not one person on this board would have chosen Bob McConnell, who was probably the worst OC in history. Every single person on this board would have made a better decision.

Your points are well taken but you are missing the crux of the problem. Miles' teams tend to get worse as the season progresses. Any honest appraisal of last year's team must admit that by the end of the regular season the team and especially the defense were unfocused and especially undisciplined. That trend continued this season but this time the talent was not there to bail us out and it got really UGLY. It all culminated in the Ark. game.

The fact is that Miles' teams tend to be undisciplined and erratic and that is COACHING. I am upset not because we went 7-5 but the way we went 7-5. The discerning football eye could see that this team was underperforming....and against Ark. they we were embarressed. Miles has taken one of the best programs in the country and it is now almost on life support. I do not believe in Les Miles and I think his teams will trend downward for the next 5 years regardless of how well he recruits...a la dale brown... a great recruiter but as bad a game coach as there ever was.....

Tell me smart guy, if I start a 6 page thread about how I want the DCs changed some we can win a bowl game, who does that lead you to believe I want LSU to struggle? I know you, like most LSU fans, are insecure about Alabama and Saban. His name is taboo and mentioning him is a sin. For my sake though, please try not to be so silly in your next post.

Do you want to make a complete list of every coach let go for not fulfilling someones expectations?

All of these coaches are solid hires, and just did not work out. And you are right, they all know football. There is no way to know what will pan out once you hire someone.

Now lets play the game, "Which one of the above named coaches possesses a NC and won 79 percent of their games at LSU"

Well said, it is disheartening after a less than stellar season, however - why be a glass half empty fan when there is still plenty to be excited about in regards to LSU Football!
