I need to say this again. Holmes looked freaking ready to go at CB. And number 13 Laborde (sp?) Looked good at times as well.

Yes, forgot to mention Hill. I'm always impressed that he knows WHERE to run. Some RB's don't have his sense.
None of the other RB's impressed, but Hilliard and Magee didn't get much blocking.

Speaks to a lack of depth, I believe
This is the ONE thing that scares me for LSU this year.............. They have a SHITLOAD of talent...... But Depth will be a HUGE factor..........

I thought he started off really well but then paid more attention and he wasn't sticking too well. He's physically impressive, though.
The kid from Donaldsonville had a bad game, unfortunately.

really my thought were this team need work and i hope the class we have coming in can produce or it will be a long season. I really don't buy in to Met performance but he was play against walk on. Met should have ran against the one's because the purple squad defense was terrible in the secondary.

Magee broke a long one but to me he didn't look as fast and elusive as I remember him.
Hill is a beast. Number 1 RB no question. Hilliard, well he didn't get nearly as many carries as Magee for some reason.

A lot of our problems on depth and our 2s will be solved with our spectacular 2013 class.
Tre' White will make a real push to start as well as Desean Smith at TE. Bower and Herron will give much needed depth at DE.
We really need Porter to get healthy. Pocic was serviceable but the 2nd string O-line was just awful.

Tre white will see significant playing time from day one. After TCU, we will have 2 or 3 tuneup game to get the true freshmen ready for league play. He will be relied on IMO after what I saw from the DB's today.

2nd post in 5 years?
I actually thought all the QBs played fairly well. Super impressed with Jennings. I wish he were a bit taller, but oh well. Great arm and seems wise with the ball well beyond his years.
Jeremy Hill is fricking awesome.
Landry and Beckwith are far and away #s 1 and 2. Even when Leslie gets here. Our 3rd leading receiver(catches, not yards, necessarily) might actually be Blue or Hill. I liked that the TEs got a few looks today.
Didn't see much from the DEs (wasn't watching, really), though Allen seemed the most active.
We desperately need some of the incoming freshmen to provide depth at DL and in the secondary.
Our kicking situation appears to suck something fierce.
I think we're gonna be really fricking good. If the football gods hold us in good favor, it could be a special season. Our schedule is brutal though. We'll see in 5 months.

Mett threw one TD pass that was called back due to a penalty.
Was a beautiful fade to Landry executed perfectly except for the illegal man downfield which was probably a line up mistake (i.e. sealed up the end).
One other play that has been overlooked is the long TD for Dural. He caught a short slant and the defender stumbled. That was all it took and he was off to the races. He will demand deep help from the Safety which will open the soft underbelly for the TE's.

4. Anthony Johnson and Ego Ferguson were also pretty impressive. Johnson especially was blowing right through the line on many occasions. Ego was also in on quite a few stuffed plays up the middle.
This is what stood out to me the most. These guys are going to spend a lot of time in opponents' backfields this season and will destroy o lines that have any deficiencies at guard or center.

From Metts interview apparently he called the plays the entire game which just really fricks with my head.
We know less about our offense than we did yesterday.

It was unfair seeing Magee trying to run up the middle against those two. They will be run stuffers this year.

Freak is exactly that. He weighs 304 lbs and doesn't look like he has an ounce of body fat. Ego makes Magee look like a child

Did D.Hunter play? He got a lot of praise during spring practice. Just wondering if anyone noticed him today

Punter looked solid. Deep and high every time.
TE's yep! Looking for more of that!
Wasn't watching close on the line either and I don't remember a DE doing anything the entire game. But wasn't watching the line much.
Fanaika looked good, did specifically watch him a few plays as my wife has been wanting an Pacific islander on the team for a while now.

he showed a nice burst and hurried a few plays.

He is physically superior and should be a force when he straightens out his technique and builds a stronger base.
I noticed he started off a foot or so behind the rest of the line a few times. He must use that to make up for his hand technique flaws and capitalize on his physical gifts

I'm glad someone actually watched the game. The purple team had no blocking, which can be credited to freak and fergo. Second, the purple defense sucked balls. Hill bounces too much. His holes were huge, credited to the white OL. Magee was switched to the white team and his first run was 30+ JUST bc he hit the hole and didnt bounce. No one will be the #1 back AND blue has yet to he seen. Hilliard ran hard and had an impressive run stiff arming and DL and then running over Eugene.

Fanaika was the only o-lineman on the purple team that looked remotely capable.
