Part of the mystique of sport is that the best team or athlete sometimes doesn't win. How many time has there been a shoo-in in the Olympics beforehand who stumbles at the start or falls down along the way. They don't go back and run again because everyone knows they were really the best one, and would prove it if just given another chance.
I not conceding that LSU wasn't the best team when they played (scoreboard), but Bama wants to pretend that game never happened. What was the hoopla for the prior two months all about then? Win the first damn game and they wouldn't be hat-in-hand whining to play again.

Remember, remember...the 5th of November.

I would rather play anybody else than Alabama, but I believe LSU and Alabama are the two best teams. Think about it this way (we were very close to being in Bama's current position and wouldn't you feel we would be the best one loss team if we lost to Bama in OT?

The press was discussing a possible rematch even before November 5th. Some in the media even suggested that LSU should get to play Bama again even over undefeated AQ teams if LSU lost at Bama in a close game. I didn't think a 1 loss Bama or LSU would go to the NC game over an undefeated conference champ, but looking at the season, I felt 90% sure that 11/05 was only the first of two match ups, although I didn't see ISU beating OSU - figured OU would do that.

I like how one of the TD posters put it: The only way a team can get into a BCS bowl is that they have to win their conference. A lot of stock is put into winning a conference championship and that is how it should be for the Title game.
So you are saying that if Georgia, Okie State and Virginia Tech all win this weekend, then the only acceptable match-up in the BCSNC game is conference champ Okie State vs. conference champ Virginia Tech.
That IS what you are saying, right. We would be out because we are not conference champs and two one-loss teams won their conference championship games?
Yes? No? If no, why not, based upon your statement I quoted above?

As has been said on here before, I recall talk about a possible rematch before the game if LSU lost. I don't remember too many people saying Bama should get back in if they lost at home.
