First off, this might be a fairly long post, so if you don’t want to read then that’s fine. But, I’ve seen too many people on here talking about how this team is not talented enough, which is just the furthest thing from the truth.

Secondly, we returned 1 daily starter (Tommy) from last year. Travinski only had like 100 ABs last year, Pearson/Jones were in and out of the lineup last year a lot until Pearson locked down a spot later in the year. Bingham and Braswell are experienced transfers, but they’re also new to the team, which is the downside of bringing in transfers each yet. Kling has been frustrating and he needs to sit. I still think Frey and Larson give you the best potential for the most explosive lineup, they just need more time to get adjusted. They have like 50 career ABs combined.

We are 1 bad pitch in a 1-2 count against Kendall Diggs from Guidry (90mph cock shot) that ended up being a 3 run bomb on the road against a #1 team, an error from Braswell which ended up costing us game 2 last night, and a dropped 3rd strike from “our best defensive catcher” from taking the series against Florida.
This is also not taking into account with how bad we’ve been with RISP in SEC play so far. I think that turns around, just based on the law of averages or large numbers.

I’m not here to sunshine pump, or say you shouldn’t be stressed or upset about the season, but baseball is a game of inches and sometimes it breaks your fricking heart when one small mistake can cost you a series, but let’s not act like baseball is like any other sport. Remember, that 2008 team won 23 straight to make it to Omaha, which no one thought they could do at that time.

I’m riding or dying with this team, and I’m the furthest thing from giving up hope yet.

Of course they are talented.

However they walk lead off hitters, can’t throw strikes, and struggle with RISP. All things that mean you’re not going to be a successful team.

But you act like that can’t change. The idea that they can’t throw strikes is absurd. I watched them strikeout 14 batters last night. I do agree, however, that the leadoff walks or consecutive walks are killing us. Holman has looked a little shaky in his 2 road SEC starts this year. And while the RISP numbers are terrible so far, I believe that the talent will eventually prevail, guys will get hot and those #s will start to increase

I was with you until this. I’d bet you don’t think about the close games we’ve won and how the could’ve been losses. I also don’t get why you have “best defensive catcher” in quotes. Do you not believe that he’s our best defensive catcher? It was basically a spiked pitch on home plate and it kicked away. It happens, it just happened at a really bad time.

A lot was said about this last season as well. Especially in SEC play toward the end of the season.

It is worse earlier this season though, but considering we lost 6 of our top 7 run producers and our Friday and Saturday starters, some struggles were to be expected.

You must’ve missed what I said after that baseball is a game of inches and sometimes it breaks your heart. Maybe we start to win some of those close games again

No I caught that part. I don’t see what that has to do with anything. We’re a very average baseball team right now.

Good! I’m with you. I’ve been following this way, way too long; and I’ve seen different ones develop at different times, hit their strides, go on serious runs. I’ll be surprised if we do not get to Omaha.

Because you understand that baseball seasons are long. Almost invariably they include some bumps in the roads. But across a season, the potholes do get filled.

I feel the same way about “sorry if Germans”

I don’t give a shite if you posted something that someone else already posted.
I don’t think reading the same article or story twice is going to kill me.

Yes indeed! We’ve had such a great program for so long. It’s been a hell of a lot of fun following all the seasons. I know Manure wasn’t as good as we wanted, but he wasn’t awful. And I love JJ’s process. It’s reminding me a lot of our man Skip.
