who has the most players in the nfl?
Damn, you guys don't read worth a shite. I'm saying that Iowa's program is geared to prepare players to play in the NFL, as opposed to other college programs that simply try to outscheme their opponents to win games, players to the NFL be damned.
No question that LSU puts a lot of talented players in the NFL. Iowa does as well, not as many, but they do put players in the league, with most of them being on the lines, where I think we will win this game.

So basically scheme to prevent big plays. They may very well catch 20 balls for 300 yards, but will hopefully be in front of our DBs.
I think I get what you're saying but if OBJ and Landry combine for 300 yards and AJ passes for at least that much, you guys are getting trounced.

15 yards per catch?

Not if we limit you to under 100 yards on the ground (now you can really start arrogantly laughing).

Is that enough?
J Hill will have 100 by himself.....

If Beckman and Landry combine for 20 catches and 300 yards receiving, LSU wins in a blowout

I don't believe our DBs can hang with LSU's WRs all game. Iowas key to win is ball control, keep LSU on the sidelines.

Look I'm not gonna sit here and think that this is some cakewalk for LSU. Not at all. But if we pass for over 300 yards between two guys, that's still moving the ball up and down the field at a pretty good clip. 100 yards rushing between our running backs and quarterback isn't a stretch at all. Add that all up and LSU is hanging 35 to 40 points on the board. Iowa doesn't have an offense that can keep up with that.
Bottom line is if AJ passes for over 300 yards I don't see Iowa winning.

I think Iowa's defense matches up well with the style of offense you guys play as well.
The offense is completely different with Jennings at the helm. It'll be tough for Iowa to prepare for what LSU will throw at them, since there will be limited film of Jennings at QB.

If he struggles then I see Iowa with a convincing win.
No one has "convincingly" beaten LSU in Miles' tenure besides Alabama on 1/9 and arguably this season, Florida and Ole Miss in 2008, and Georgia in the SECCG in 2005.
A middle-of-the-road B1G team is not capable of putting on the same "convincing" beat down.

Iowa's Rush Defense allows 120 rushing yards per game.
LSU runs for 200 rushing yards a game(without a duel threat QB).

In the end, I see Iowa winning 24-14. A greater spread wouldn't surprise me in the least, especially if Jennings struggles.
Jennings will have a marquee performance against your terrible DB's. Especially since your blatantly overrated DL won't be able to handle our stable of RBs.
Prep the anus, bro.

Iowa's defense has been incredibly strong in the red zone. I guess I should have put a couple FGs in my prediction to make it more realistic. Change it to 24-13.
You can put up a whole bunch of yards between the 20s and still not score a lot of points. This is what successful Iowa defenses have been able to do over the years. If we can limit the damage LSU can do on the ground, the Hawks will be in great shape.

LSU and Iowa are tied for 78th in the nation, allowing opponents to score on 84.6% of red zone opportunities.
LSU has allowed 19 TDs (11 rushing, 8 passing) and 14 FGs in 39 red zone opportunities.
Iowa has allowed 13 TDs (5 rushing, 8 passing) and 9 FGs in 26 red zone opportunities.
From a thread I posted comparing LSU to Iowa in various statistical categories.

Okay now I'm not sure if you're being serious or just looking to troll. Iowa is not holding LSU to 13 points.
Missouri State scored 14 on y'all. Iowa State scored 21. Michigan 21 and Nebraska 17. So you're telling me that LSU's offense which is infinitely better than any of those teams is going to score less with 300 yards passing?
If you are trolling kudos. You got me. I totally thought you were serious at the start.

The only thing Iowa has going for them is the kickoff time.

Thanks for taking the time to offer your take on the matchup. I think it should be a good game. Personally, I think the Tigers will be more motivated than most Tiger fans seem to be, especially after last year's loss. But we'll see....
I agree that Iowa's run game and our ability to deal with it is one of the big keys to the game. Given the fact that we have struggled this year with teams that feature a power running game (Bama, Georgia...especially before Gurley got hurt, and Arkansas), I think we might be in for a real battle.
Your comments on the solid fundamental play of Iowa's O linemen rings true, and is echoed by what I've read in some of the predictions for the game. And, yes, it does seem to me that most of the players Iowa sends to the League are linemen.
I don't know what to expect from Jennings. He was great at the end of the Arky game, and he certainly brings another dimension to our offense with his mobility, but we'll obviously be missing Mett's maturity and experience. I agree with some other posters who have pointed out that if Jennings passes for something like 300 yards, we'll be in good shape.
